Someone gif the punch please.
It wasn't cut short though? I'm looking at it side by side and it's practically the same speech and scene almost exactly. Not my favorite ep, but I'm probably being overcritical and comparing it to the other versions. Little disappointed Licenseless-Rider's speech before being KO'd was cut short, as it helped convey how identical Saitama and Rider's hero philosophies are. And bummed the letters scene was also undersold.
Oh well! On to the last three episodes! It'll be interesting to see how MadHouse handles the conclusion to the anime.
I wouldn't be opposed to more songs, but the songs that are there are really great and when a song comes up that I can instantly hum along to with feelings welling up? I appreciate it a lot.As much as I do love the songs its the only part of the anime that feels cheap. A few more songs wouldn't hurt.
I do wonder how many of the villains Saitama has defeated before the sea king were on a similar power level to him.
Because Saitama just defeats everything with a single punch it's basically impossible to gauge the power of any enemy that hasn't had a direct match up with another hero.
Honestly the Brains and Brawn Brothers from episode one are probably the strongest foes Saitama has beaten so far this season.

It might be just a difference between the official translation and the fan-translation of the manga I first read, but I did miss Mumen Rider's "if I won't fight, then who will?" part to his speech.
Episode 9
GOD DAMN did that deliver. animators really brought their A game. I'll admit I got scared they cut the real conclusion to the fight when they cut away to Saitama and Genos back at home but they included it as a flashback and hit it out of the park. A much better job here than with the fallout from the Meteor. Some little changes and additions but they were all for the best IMO.
Well, that's because he was so stunned that he almost missed sale day that Carnage Kabuto got a few lucky hits in. Sale day was that important.God damn it. I was hoping Sea King would be more of a challenge. Even Carnage Kabuto managed to hit Saitama more, though Sea King at least left a mark. Though I guess that's the point of the show
Also, how did Mask grow his hair so fast?
Yeah. Looks like they are covering the next arc. I'm excited.oh man if you guys liked sea king just wait for Boros, I am so happy they're doing it.
Ye~p. I was really looking forward to that line, as Saitama said something similar in a prior episode and it would've hammered home how identical their hero philosophies are even though they're on complete opposite ends of the power spectrum. It might be just a difference between the official translation and the fan-translation of the manga I first read, but I did miss Mumen Rider's "if I won't fight, then who will?" part to his speech.
Almost exactly. Rider remarks on how heroes never run and how, paraphrased, he doesn't have a choice but to fight no matter if he's weak because no one is left. It's what Heroes do; Threat level is irrelevant. It's almost exactly what Saitama says sometime before ep9, but it has a bit more weight coming from a guy who actually doesn't have a chance to win.It wasn't cut short though? He doesn't care about his reputation really.Whoa, that was awesome. That Mumen Rider speech made me a little teary but I attribute it to the voice actor that also did Tomoya from Clannad, its linked now to sadness. Why is Saitama hurting his own reputation, such tragedy, he deserves better.

Its interesting to theorycraft just which other heroes might be able to take on the monsters Saitama fights. I like to believe that one or two of the S Rank heroes we'll meet later might have been able to take out the Sea King.

That punch was awesome. I also liked the added scenes. Mumen Rider for life.
I think stuff like that giant Aniki, Vaccine Man and Carnage Kabuto were Dragon.
His hair also works in mysterious ways. It switches from long to short pretty regularly. Almost every appearance as far as I remember.
Why is Saitama hurting his own reputation, such tragedy, he deserves better.
It's not that he doesn't care (I mean, he gets a bit excited in this very episode when he gets letters and the series is sparkled by little things like that), it's that he believes there are things more important than his reputation.
12. 3 more to goFantastic episode. So how many episodes do we have this season?
I wonder how much better Genos would fare against mosquito girl nowadays, considering he constantly upgrades his weapons/body.
12. 3 more to go
Holy fuck this show, I feel like this thread needs a title change that suggests that even if you don't care for anime you should watch One Punch.

Minor gripe, really. I'm just a huge Licenseless fan and wanted him to shine brighter.![]()
I really rally hope they dont go with a standard "anime dub voice" for saitama...would love a traditional western cartoon voice actor.
