But it's mainly about variety, more so since we have a base roster of 16 with 2 shotos already in. You can't over-stuff such a small roster with shotos at the start. Those 4 were insanely requested to return (more so Karin, who's Japan's most requested character). I'm sure Akuma will get in eventually, probably in Wave 2 of SFV's DLC initiative in 2017.

To be fair, we already got SFxT. Akuma seems to be TxSF's herald like he was for MvC. That being said, I'd be down for Jin if he plays like he did in SFxT (plus a Devil Jin V-Trigger).

Heihachi still won the 4th tournament though, yes... He beat Kazuya's ass fair and square to win. (Though he was responsible for taking Jin out the tournament, but fuck Jin... Generic ass bitch)

They tried to kill him off in Tekken 5, but fan backlash brough him back but his participation in 5 wasn't even canon according to Tekken 6.

The one game he didn't really have a huge impact was the last mainline Tekken game (6), where they had to do some crazy stupid shit that I still don't understand.

And now once again he is the focal point in Tekken 7.

And he is going to wash all your faves.

So these new costumes are redesigns & not just alternates? I recall the characters having costumes more like their Tekken 6 looks (with a few exceptions).

Seeing all these fighting games is reminding me how pissed off I am at Sega for not making a Virtua fighter sequel :(

That's some crazy shit. My two favourites, Heihachi vs Akuma, his combos look sick.

I think it's a bit weird to see him having such an impact on the story lmao.

Kinda weird to see a Street Fighter character actually have presence in the games' story.

Usually guest characters are an extra, if I am correct in assuming is the case for games like DOA5. But a Street Fighter character actually existing in the Tekken mythos?

That's awesome and probably wise to go with SFIV Akuma. I wanted a taste of SF inside Tekken. Everything looks better than it did back with Tekken 5.

I wonder if he'll have a parry or a reversal or if his side step will even matter? ;)

I dont understand people who compare the graphic of 2 games which has totally different style. Street Fighter is going for 2D look , it is not going to be the same comparing to realistic style in Tekken. It would look so weird using the same model in Street Fighter game.

Being this late into the year with this kind of announcement, not a chance. They'll want to keep this in arcades only for a while. Bleh. Characters are looking good with this update and Akuma. Goddamn. Bleh. Let the Tekken cycle of waiting begin.

I mean, they're likely just going to say he came in from another dimension or something. Tekken story has not really been very coherent since part 5.
