No Man's Sky pre-orders start March 3rd, $59.99

Seems kind of silly to trigger this kind of obvious confusion when they could have simply avoided it by opening up pre-orders today instead of at some arbitrary time on Thursday.

This is just to ensure people can't spring on it as part of the Spend $100, Get $15 deal, isn't it?
That could be. The other preorders are "out today". This is the only one "out 3/3".

People thought this wouldn't be a $60? I guess indies don't deserve to be any higher than $20, no matter the amount of work put into the game.

Wait so does it actually come out in June or is it just a pre-order for a totally nebulous release date? Either way that wording is so comically confusing.... The pre-order option "comes out on 3/3".... crazy.

A digital pre order for a game 3 months out....?

All these way in advance pre orders are silly, not just NMS.

Nice! Looking forward to a physical release or digital codes at Best Buy for GCU.

Now I shall exit this thread so the fickle can complain about prices that always have deals or reduced prices soon after release dates.

So we jumped the witness price point straight into $60 territory. I hope we don't see him crying about people pirating him game like blow.

I was interested when I assumed this would just be a solid indie title, maybe priced a bit higher than others, say 30 bucks.

60 bucks just reeks of "hey people really want this and the hype is off the charts, lets jack it up". I'll wait awhile longer for a sale during the holidays.

Digital codes are eligible for GCU?

Two threads made and neither OP demonstrated a lick of common sense. Here's hoping there isn't a bunch of retailer specific DLC announced on Thursday.

I kinda expected $50 tbh but with those discounts on amazon its basically $50

It won't release til after E3 anyway, Sony needs one more opportunity to show it off to get people hyped

We're people really holding their breath waiting to see how much this would cost?

Absolutely. I have zero problem whatsoever with a 60 dollar price tag but I won't say I was expecting it. It could have been 40 like the Witness, or whatever other number they deemed acceptable. Again though, I'm fine with however they want to price it, don't get me wrong.
