Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

Not sure but you can't let Snyder do it or lump it on someone else without the chance to make big changes, could be an even bigger mess.

The other problem is do they want to keep the same actors, back story. A Universe reboot would be extreme but if you can't see a way back, maybe best to just do it.

Alternative would be a soft reset. MoS and BvS didn't happen. Wonder Women, Suicide Squad and Batfleck Batman are the start.

I guess you could pull a Star Trek reboot with some time travel stuff and conveniently write off anything you don't want to be canon anymore

Bummer. Guess I'll just catch a cheap manatee.

Maybe manatees should write the next movie.

How much do you hate yourself?

Please don't. At this point I am a Snyder apologist, but Sucker Punch is not a good film. Some people like it, but I am not one of those people. Sucker Punch has attractive women in various states of undress, great visuals and yet it somehow managed to bore me silly.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Don't believe the hate.

Actually, do believe the hate. Just saying I enjoyed it, so it's possible to like it.

Don't watch it.

I watched the extended cut. It's basically just "look at this cool anime shit" the movie wrapped in a stupid premise and told in a confusing nonsensical manner.

It really is not as bad as it sounds mostly thanks to the visuals and music IMO.
Sorry gaf!!

Damn, divisive but leaning slightly towards hate.

Wait, Snyder is directing the Justice League movie? I mean, I enjoyed MoS and BvS (more or less), but surely there has to be a better director available somewhere.

At least you can talk. Who are you?
Found this:

  • "WB execs are shitting their pants. If [Batman V Superman] makes less than a billion, [Zack] Snyder is out and Justice League will be delayed 8 months."

  • "Chris Nolan is being courted as a producer and George Miller, David Yates, Louis Letterier, and Vincenzo Natali are all being courted to take over Justice League."

  • "Wonder Woman is undergoing major rewrites to be more of a standalone film. Aquaman, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps. are all on the chopping block."

  • "Investors are planning a major takeover if [Batman V Superman] flops and have plans to install a board that will order the universe to be rebooted."

anyone heard of this site?

LMAO
I can't believe this is legitimate but I'm imagining executives sitting at their laptops, watching the RT score dropping and all of a sudden they're shouting "SOMEONE PHONE NOLAN, QUICK"

Opening weekend, sure. Legs could get clipped if the word of mouth is as bad as these reviews though.
It has four, FOUR free weeks with zero competition. It's very unlikely.

But it would be so sweet if it bombed, like "Hey WB, we really don't want your fucking movie, and we'd rather not watch anything than it".

Not gonna happen, but amusing in thought.

Phone? If there isn't a Nolan signal they can light I am going to be disappointed.

I mean, the main problem with Snyder is that he tries to cram everything into one movie, every little scene and idea. He needs a filter. At some point someone should tell him "No, Zack, you have enough cool scenes, now you have to work on making them transition properly".

Can you imagine if they get George Miller and just have him make the Tower of Babel adaptation he almost shot in 2009?

Like Man of Steel & Batman v Superman never happened?
I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it. I definitely don't need it.

I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED IT!

If this is even remotely true, I can't begin to imagine the amount of money/carte blanche film deals WB is offering Nolan right now. The man will probably be able to make any film he wants for the rest of his life.

A friend of mine at work was going to see this clown car of a movie, but now he's going to see Zootopia after seeing the reviews. ANECDOTAL but obviously proof this will bomb. ;)

What was the George Miller Justice League going to like, was the script ever leaked, any good?

The script is easily googlable, and there's at least a couple threads about it here on OT side. It was called Justice League: Mortal and was basically an adaptation of Mark Waid's Tower of Babel story.

Interesting in that it is still, so far, the only live action DC attempt to be based directly on an actual comic book storyline.

Why did they fuck up BATMAN vs SUPERMAN? Why this particular movie?!?

They had like 8 Superman movies done before that - why weren't they a piece of garbage?

They made like 9 Batman movies before this one - why weren't they 3/10?!?

Of all the Batman or Superman movies ever made they just HAD TO fuck up the one where Bats meets Supes... the one that the whole comic world was waiting for.

Unimaginable... Unheard of... WB losers... what a bunch of losers...

I knew this was coming when we saw Batman in his armoured suit.

He doesn't care about story. He just enjoys appropriating the visuals of heavily praised comic books, bringing them to a new audience, then feeling like he contributed.

You didn't, Zack, and you haven't.

I can't even imagine how it feels to be all of the actors attached to the DC "Universe", thinking that they had their future pretty much set in stone for the foreseeable future, especially some of the lesser known folks.

I can't believe they trusted Zach Snyder to lead this revival. What in the world were they thinking? How did Christopher Nolan not have enough pull to let them know that wouldn't work? None of this makes sense to me at all.

I can't imagine they go forward with their plans if this film does much lower than the estimates. I hope it crashes and burns so badly that they have no choice but to burn it all to the ground and start fresh. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call to SOMEONE about who they should trust with such a huge project. Whoever set all of this up in the first place should be fired. Which idiot was it exactly?

If this flops, even if just critically, it could be one of the biggest disasters in film history. Not simply because of what this film makes, or doesn't make, at the box office, but how it could affect so many future projects.

I feel badly for Suicide Squad and all of those involved as well. That one looks like a quality film, and I hate that it is attached to this apparent mess.
