What other quality-of-life changes is the game getting outside of the new DLC? The game always gets a major facelift prior to the DLC release.

And are all these changes in now?

I bet you are fun at parties.

I bet he is. With a couple of drinks in me, I love a snarky blowhard. It gives me somebody to talk about with girls. 'Can you believe that guy?' Our shared hatred leads to different kind of private crucible match, if you catch my meaning.... nudge, nudge, wink wink .... say no more.

Who am I kidding, I don't pull in girls like that. I'm old and married.

I look forward to finally being able to just chill in these maps... I'll have to load them up tonight and do some 1v1.

Only took 2 years. Kind of crazy considering they're the same people who made Halo. Whatever, better late than never.

Now get matchmaking for everything except raids and separate PvE balance from PvP.

Raid Matchmarking won't ever happen and it should not happen cause they clearly stated they design them to not count with Matchmaking as a thing.

Let it go.

If this was there day 1 the game would have been a lot better. Being forced to play on that moon map 3 times in a row sucked.

Aside from that I always think Crucible was the best part of Destiny.

Congrats on adding a feature that should have been there day 1. Pretty funny/sad that they're making a big deal of this.

I mean it has been like two years and them finally adding it is kinda big deal..
Destiny has changed a lot for the better and it's never too late to improve the game.

Oh god, no!
I was joking. Please don't start the raid matchmaking arguments. Every destiny thread on gaming side becomes an endless discussion about raid matchmaking.

What's the difference between private matches and custom games? I thought it was just semantics.

People that want custom games tend to want more customization options than map/score/mode.

They want control of ammo spawns, weapon types, loadouts, supermoves ON/OFF, radar, Mayhem, etc.

Custom, personally, indicates options beyond match defaults. All Bungie has given us is their existing playlist, but no way to set in-match options.

True customization would be Clash, with mayhem respawntimers, supers off, primaries only.

That would be cool. I'd love to make a hardcore mode, kind of like Inferno, but without supers and maybe even without heavies. Actually, primaries only would be very cool.

Maybe now I can finish the Imprecation quest.

Edit: Thanks for clarifying. Maybe now I can delete Destiny.

Because of the first curse? Not worth it. Unless you're a hardcore collector.

I think the difference is that with custom you would be able to toggle things like supers off or choose the weapons. The way it is now you can't tweak the sandbox. Just choose a map, a mode and bring your friends.

I'd definitely be interested in something along these lines. The supers and heavies are just terribly implemented and make the game less fun overall. I'm not sure I'd go all the way to primaries only though. Even the heavies could still be fine if they toned them down some so their automatic, instant death from across the map.

They're heavies, it's meant to be instant death. if you see a rocket crossing the map and it still hits you, the gameplay isn't the problem.

Sorry, maybe its mentioned elsewhere, but do you gain any faction in private matches? I'd imagine not, but would like to know for sure!

Based on what? Heavies don't need to be instant death. And that also conveniently ignores lmgs which kill near instantly as well and can't be dodged for the most part. I'm responding to this as if it isn't a thinly veiled "git gud" post. In general, I think it's bad game design to have players instantly killed by most unavoidable stuff. There's never been a time I've been titan smashed and thought "well, that's good game design. I'm glad they made a one-hit kill attack that is basically unavoidable, unleashes instantly, and makes the attacker invulnerable." Bungie is at least addressing this issue somewhat with the artifacts that highlight players with supers in expansion, so they seem to be coming around on the issue as well.
