"Tuesday is the start of a new activation, I suspect things to start moving quickly. If anyone’s in NY/NJ area, Sony Square is going to have some cool stuff to check out and play. The marketing push for the brand overall is about to liftoff."

idk. Sony and SIE run by totally different teams now vs 2013. Even going back just two years, and youll see a lot has changed. There are so many unknowns right now.
But they have to do something to get people excited. They are probably confabbing right now about timing and content.
p.s.
san mateo (sie hq) is part of greater San Francisco metro area. So executives being there is not an indication of an SF meeting, maybe rehearsal tho.

Max speeds mean diddly squat, If Sony figures out how to get a 2gbs ssd to generally perform at anywhere near 2gbs then if will be drastically faster then that 6.5 drive.

Idk if I agree with this. I think the last gen got stuck in a weird spot looking back. The decision to go with the tech that they did at the time stifled a lot of things. I think we can totally have another moment of a game or introduction to an IP catch us off guard and show what's possible on new hardware.

No they did not. That is a month long event where they have PlayStation and PS VR kiosks so you can "experience" and try them out within the daily hours of operation.

You sound desperate af at this point dude xD. I'm ready to hear about some games and hardware/software features, that's where the real fun is at.
This is sad; end of an era. E3 didn't have to go down this way. For a long time it was like the mecca of videogaming meet-ups for seeing the newest games and hardware. At the very least it helped with getting people and teams out of their own bubbles every once in a while.
I think it still has its place but clearly they gotta think about how this should function better. That said, I still think Sony skipping E3 is a mistake, at least THIS E3. They wanna skip E3 2021 and after? Fine, sure. But if you're gonna be done with E3 at least say goodbye with a bang, plus E3's still the biggest gaming convention to the mainstream, the exposure is only a good thing.

I'm going to go ahead guess and say project infinity is the code name for psvr 2 and the image that was posted was a reference to the visuals we can expect not the actual game.
