Definitely, and this is what I don't fancy about "fanboys" Don't take me wrong, I'm a total sucker for Playstation and don't like the Xbox, but as a gamer, it's better if both are similar in power because third party games will not be downgraded because of platforms A or B. When a product is developed, you develop it for the lowest common denominator and then scale up, be it MSAA, resolution, Texture filtering, frames, etc.

I think the main reason we arent hearing about Lockheart is because MS KNOW Sony is going all in for a premium console. Their is no PSV is the mid range system rhetoric to play at launching both simultaneously would cannibalize their XseX sales.

I think a budget Ps5 or XSX option makes little sense as early adopters would want the high spec version anyway and it will be limited suppliy and holiday Xmas.

Only after 6 + months does the budget offering really affect sales IMO. and more so picking up casuals further down the road.

That number was SPOT ON at that time with PSV having a slight lead but also having heat and sound issues. (Heat and sound are no longer issues) MS announces 12 TF hey look a .4 increase not bad at all they made it. BOTH are > 10 (said this last year) with PSV still having a slight advantage. (Said this last year also.) Both were aiming for a very high number (13) and from what I can gather one of them may have actually hit that number. (Its not MS) Either way BOTH consoles are stupidly powerful and still very close. 12 vs 12.4 or 13.2 (Within 1TF of the numbers with a . up in both cases not down) isn't bad at all.

Actually, I've been using Google Assistant in various devices lately and most of the time it's just hit and miss. If there's really a voice assistant in PS5, I hope you can disable it.

Which have been confirmed one million times already from multiple insiders in this thread, I hope we really get something in this days or in few pages we will be back questioning the gap between the two consoles.

But I am convinced the fact they always go back to gihub in light of 100% developers saying otherwise is why I believe their here to gain mindshare, and once they have their foot in the door of your mind, they will peddle another agenda thats aims to lure you to the MS ecosystem.
Again, I will apologize for being wrong and thinking they are astroturfers if they end up bring true, but the fact they keep forcing the discourse to Github shows theres some organizing behind the scenes between Era and here. Both sides have users pushing the same agenda about Github whenever theres any positive news around PS5.

I think some people don't put faith in rumour and speculation. They view the GitHub leak as the only data point that is black and white and will believe until Sony or another real leak says otherwise. I think to jump to conspiracy theory is a stretch because it would all be a waste of time and resources once the "real" specs are revealed. I'm in the 11-12 camp myself. Not that you asked.

No they are not virtually on par if 13 TFLOPS for PS5 is true. PS5 leads in every way except for CPU speed. Both are powerful, but not on par. The question is will this lead make a difference in performance, or will it not matter because the new generation has passed graphical barriers and thresholds. The same way we dont care about bits and polygons per second anymore.

Not everyone has the same sources and not all sources have access to the same hardware/information.

On the subject of power, as long as we are in the same ball park area, we are good. If that’s 11 & 12 or 12 & 13, you’re not talking 1080p to 900p holy shit look at that mountain popping in on console A. You’re talking “holy shit that foliage instance on the horizon didn’t draw until I was 1,000 feet away, it was drawing at 980 feet on the other console!”.

You’re looking at two major consoles being closer than they have ever been in a previous generation. But most importantly, you’re looking at us ALL winning from this. Third party games will push the boundaries. First party games will continue to evolve. You can see the squirrels and they will be merry. But this stapler is the same damn stapler as the other, only one may hold 110 staples and the other 100.

For me, personally, I hear a LOT about how these new consoles will push realistic graphics and blah blah blah, but for me, honestly, I can’t wait to see what they do with stylised games, things like sunset overdrive, the lego games, platformers etc. That’s where you can push shit like crazy, and have it look like a cgi cartoon. We already hit this crazy peak with stuff like Ratchet this gen. But next gen? We could be on par with the movie.

Exciting times.

If new consoles are so close then multiplats will look the same (even if one or the other could produce slightly better graphics it still will be the same unlike previous gen) unless secret sauce will change that or ray tracing will be better on one or the other. Now, more interesting will be exclusives. Finally a competition on the market as it should always be.

I really don't understand why people are clinging to "non RT". The proof is overwhelming at this stage:

1. Sony announced HW RT
2. AMD announced that HW RT is RDNA2

The only thing I concede is that it may not be full RDNA2 because they may have a custom implementation with RDNA and RDNA2 technologies, as said by HeisenbergFX4 .
