It’s still 50% more efficient over RDNA, which was 50% more efficient over GCN. Add RT as well and it definitely deserves the 2 convention, regardless of fab process.

7nm+ was originally part of RDNA2 and is now RDNA3.
Not mentioned yet but HBM has likely gone the same way.

Not necessarily, RDNA3 likely to be 5nm, as they discussed the "future node" stuff while talking about Zen and mentioned it was 5.

lol what if that's what it ends up being lol, maybe by their old definition they were still RDNA1.1 or something, but then they pushed features back to RDNA3 and now the former RDNA 1.1 became rebranded to RDNA2?
it kinda feels like that tbh... it feels like the jump from Ryzen 1000 to Ryzen 2000 which are both Zen 1 but the 2000 series was a big improvement

They also showed in the slides Zen3 with 7nm where we knew since last year that it would be 7nm+. Does that mean that Zen3 was also scaled back? I don't know. 7nm EUV is still a 7nm node. And the "advanced node" bulletpoint with RDNA3 could be 5nm, not 7nm+. So RDNA2 for desktop GPUs could still be 7nm+

They announced that both consoles are the newest Navi2x architecture and the newest Zen2 architecture. I think we are getting full fledged on both this time around.

The 9.2 tflops rumours aren't going to go anywhere as RDNA2 can also be used for GPUs with less than double digit Tflops.

I think everything has been shuffled about, yeah. A lot of stuff that was made for
Rdna 2 seems to have moved up etc. Best way to describe is a shuffle about in terms of planning.

Sony is going to launch a system that has at least 12.6TF so they can say that the PS5 has three times the TF of the PS4 Pro. I have zero doubt of this. What really bothers me is everyone who jumps to believe every piece of propaganda that the PS5 will be a gimped console.
