I think its nearly certain that the chips called Oberon and Ariel in the GitHub leaks aren't RDNA2 based.

I would expect a year’s delay now, but not because of manufacturing capacity, but because the risk of launching a new luxury product through a period where wider parts of the world economy might be rebuilding would require a launch and a relaunch 18months in (IMHO)– maybe ending up in xbox original sales territory for Sony - making the whole thing more risky; especially when it is going to knee cap sales of your successful product that is still in the field and could have more legs.

I’d now speculate at an announcement in the ilk of “Great news! The PS5 is going to be xx.xTF...but we are now releasing holidays 2021 for obvious reasons … please look forward to these great games in the meantime”. Followed by price haircuts all round for PS4, PS4 Pro, games, a new slim PS4 Pro with UHD playback, reduced license fee for publishers and games that are allowed to dual SKU for Pro and PS4… maybe even a revised Dualshock to bringing forward some of the PS5 Dualshock 5 ideas (if there is any) just to freshen things up in case Xbox still goes ahead as planned.

It take a lot of bandwidth and memory to fed and hold data for a GPU that high and also the CPU. It is also believed the memory bus of the Xbox Series X is larger then the PS5. Because of that I don’t think Higher TFlop count would be need. Because you would starve the GPU.

I believe because the The SSD On PS5 is rumored to have a higher bandwidth of 1GB higher transfer rate over The Xbox Series X you wouldn’t need higher GPU with a huge TFLOP count. Because you have an advantage with SSD Transfer rate. You can render and tile resource or mega texture ( What ever name you want to name it) data to the SSD. Which would lower the grunt work of your GPU and CPU. So you can get by with a lower clocked CPU and GPU.

With a lower clocked CPU and GPU. You create less thermals. Less heat means you can go with a smaller form factor.

Also when I say Devs say they are targeting 11TF doesn’t mean the console is only that. There is usually some overhead available that they use later in the optimization stage that they can leverage and polish up a game.

So in my Opinion that translates to PSV being around 11.5-12TF with 13 having a slight chance.

Now for the record no Dev has told me the exact TF count of the projected retail PSV.

Saying its 11.5 - 13tf gives you a rather large window to be correct. With such a large window this is not really "insider" info, anyone can say these ball park figures

E.g im an insider sony is currently at 10.8, but trying to get higher they are aiming for 12, possibly a little higher to beat the xsx. So imo ps5 should be 10.8 - 12.8

Its means nothing because it could be 10.8 and you would be right and 12.6 and u would be right, hardly insider info.

We can all be insiders if say between 9 - 14tf lol


Also i dont think there would be that much wiggle room in clockspeeds, albert penello has explained at the other place that consoles are designed in harmony, the target clockspeed will dictate the heat, which will determine the cooling system which determines the size of the case.
Now clockspeeds can be changed but by how much will depend on how aggressive or conservative the designers where in there initial design. For example the XSX has said to run very quietly, which may give them some Headroom for increasing the clocks but it would result in a higher fan speed and more noise.

Sorry, but I'm done with the steady conveyor belt of insiders now. I mean this latest one seems to be saying anything from 'around 10TF' to now being 11.5-13TF and things like 'PSVR2 overhead' over a 3 week period. I just don't believe any claims that say the target spec changes multiple times in 3 months. Devs wouldn't know which way was up!

Andrew Reiner said last June the PS5 target specs were above Scarlett which I believe would've been well after the 12+/4+TF leaks that were then confirmed months later.

These Github nut tuggers treat the Oberon Aerial leak as a puro definitive truth leak :pie_roffles::pie_roffles::pie_roffles:. Bunch of 🤡🤡🤡 IMO that don't have great intentions with their Github religious beliefs 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That's not what he sent for vetting! That's his personal opinion, after the things he have heard, been told by his sources _ read all the posts!
What he's verifying is a conversation with one dev that allegedly told him, one of the past leaks is 100% true, but he's still awaiting for clarification on which one. Meanwhile already wanted to provide proof to Mod of War Mod of War .

Well, you make a fair point. So they've explicitly said that they have not said that it's EUV, but have not clarified what it is.

I'm fully expecting Zen 3 without EUV, and for next gen consoles to be based on at best the same none EUV process.

The YT channel MarlonGamingNation (direct link to channel), posted this pastebin link on the chat that was sent to him from someone who he says is a legitimate inside source within SIE iirc. This Marlon guy though does have connections within Sony, he was also actually in one of the documentaries they made for (I THINK) God of War. Also, that Ubisoft or Activision developer that mentioned a 14TF PS5 devkit in existence, watches his stream daily and out of nowhere on one of his streams, mentioned an ergonomic adjustable grip for the PS5 controller in the comments. And in one his streams from late February, his SIE source told him that the PlayStation store for PS5 will have a completely separate UI and will be called GAMERS’ MARKET with features like trading/buying games with credits or something. Idk exactly what he said, but here’s the link to THAT PART of the stream. Even though he says his source is legit, I always took whatever he said with a HUGE grain of salt, until about two days ago on Wednesday, March 11th. His source told him during that day’s stream, that the Ellie edition for TLOU2 will be restocked and go on sale again on March 13th on the PlayStation Direct store. And today...



This is why I’m starting to think his source actually has a chance of being legit, but again this is all just pure speculation. That pastebin link says they’ve unlocked 15.05TF by clocking 56 CU’s all the way up to a whopping 2.1 GHz on the devkit (Those are devkit specs because there’s no way in hell we’re getting 32GB of RAM on the retail version) but iirc, Marlon said they were looking to settle at somewhere around 11TF in one of his recent streams, which is the current number that’s been floating around recently. Now, I’m not asking you guys to 100% believe whatever this dude says, but at least when it comes to rumours, I think we should treat all rumours equally instead of quickly moving to dismiss them. They all have an equal chance of being true or false just because of the fact that Sony has barely mentioned ANYTHING regarding the PS5 up until now. Just my humble opinion, what do you guys think about this?

The supposed leak states a powerful RDNA 2 7nm AMD GPU with 56 compute units @2.1 GHz, which apparently can reach a peak performance of 15.05 TFLOPS.
