People have a problem with the game because of how the story played out more than anything.
If that is the case then why do so many of the messages have some version of SJW, Woke or Cuckman?
These are the qualities that directly led to the writing being outrageously bad, would be my guess.

The issue with TLOU2 is that it's story fucking sucks and game reviewers can't go into specifics as to why because Sony has imposed some pretty draconian guidelines as to what they can reveal in their reviews.
Don't you think gamers need to be warned that a videogame with it's story as the main selling point fails at it?
Back to ME3, none of the reviews even hinted to how much the ending sucked. People only found out beforehand on the Bioware forums because some users got a copy early.

Thats simply due to time of release. A game released on 2013 will have less reviews since there was less online activity at the time.
You can also make the same comparion with GoW3 and GoW18. The former has only +3000 ratings while the latter has +12000 despite a similar 8 year gap.

Last post before I’m out of this thread for good. Everyone should read the user reviews. People are actually giving their honest opinion, in depth take of the game, its flaws and attributes. More that could be said about the questionable intentions of the media. Take time to go through them yea some of them are trolls but the majority of them are legitimate users that played the game and reviewed as honestly as possible.

Left behind is when we found out she was gay. Remastered came after that.
So I don't think it has anything to do with the game itself. More how one side celebrates, the other side hates. So when people are there to celebrate a game that has an openly gay character, the other side is there to hate. Because neither side was there years ago

My personally I don’t have a problem with the game being game for LGBTQ, it’s the fact the the first game really felt like some cool post zombie type of vibe. I wanted the second game to have some crazy ass boss monsters or something, just felt the game went the real movie direction, sure the game looks good but that’s it. Gameplay wasn’t impressive in the first game, they even got rid of online. I know some people hate openly gay stories, I don’t, My problem is that I felt I was being sold something I didn’t want. I agree with the user scores, I think 3/10 is a great score for this game. I hate to say it but U2 was really their last great game imo.

Exactly. To me, anyone blaming "SJW propaganda" as the reason the game isn't good (or as good as the original) aren't any better than the SJWs saying people that don't like it are hateful, sexist, etc.
I don't care for scores, personally. But after everything I've seen, experienced, and read, the 7/10 makes the most sense to me. The story and writing is incredibly meh to me personally, but so are the gameplay mechanics. The "improvements" are so minuscule, and at times the AI looks as bad as if not worse than the previous game. Yes, even on Survivor difficulty.
But I feel like if you LOVED the first game's mechanics a great deal, then you'll most likely enjoy this one just as much. Now with everything else (story, direction, writing, pacing), that's subjective.

I find the trolling hilarious to be honest. Trolling only works when people get mad and people are getting genuinely mad that not everybody loves this video game that I will never have interest in.

So why were people already mad long before any leaks happened, just after the gameplay reveal (where we first see Dina) and in that case what does the direction of the story have to do with "wokness"?
It sure seems convenient that people who already hated the game after Ellie was shown kissing a girl can switch their position to "ACTUAWAHLY it's because of how Jole is treated" whilst still complaining constantly (and mostly) about "wokness". Almost like it's a more acceptable motive to hide behind...

That first preview vid shown a long time ago with Dina (that dance scene) isn't the wokeness people don't like. Don't think people cared. I don't remember tons of posts saying they hated seeing two girls dance and flirt.
It's the other things that happen in the plot people don't like, and not all of it is wokeness/SJW stuff.

Seems like a pretty fair score, no? It’s democracy, people should have power to express their opinion. And here, it seems people are doing just that. Vast majority of AAA games don’t get review bombed, look at RDR 2, Uncharted 4 or GoW, just to name a few. Journalists liked them and people liked them. Total consensus.

It's fact that this is what is going on, in multiple high-profile games. I mean look at Gears 5, it's noticable too. I don't hide behind anything, I don't like it and "the age cis-white able bodied man is over" from some presentation of Druckmann....I don't feel I can get behind that. I think that ND games were better with Amy Hening at helm. Because before we had female presence in the games, with very good games like No One Lives Forever and that felt natural.
I am not going to go to MC and wrote some 0/10 shit, but it legitly dissapoints me, what TLoU 2 is and yes I spoiled myself without pressure, because killing characters in same franchise for some personal politics or for some stupid reason, which I have some emotional connection to...whenever it's a movie, TV show or game....I don't like it.
And that's my stance, I don't want to play this game, I am sure that as a game it will be great, but I simply don't like the direction. And if people gonna enjoy it, that's more than fine, more power to them.

Im hesitant to say anything since I think we are getting dangerously close to spoilers but I just finished TLOU 1 again and my take away from going back to the game is that:
-Ellie is the focus going forward just based on how the story ends. Joel seems to be desperately hanging on to Ellie as the one last reclaimed piece of his humanity while Ellie is in the process of losing hers by way of Joel.
-Joel is not a good person and cannot be redeemed.
-Its established that she is either gay or bi or curious (Left Behind)
Is this really what people are pissed about? Because so far its sounding like a fairly logical progression of what TLOU set up.

The vast majority or criticism came when the leaks came out a few months ago showing all kinds of story and cut scenes.

I really like the Uncharted series but I really don't see how that makes them so ahead of everyone.
It is a damn cool series (I still have to play the 4th one because I currently don't have a PS4). I would say they are a great developer, but this is exaggerated.

No, this isn't why people are pissed. I'll leave very light spoilers below that could explain to you (doesn't reveal anything specific):
Characters behave in nonsensical and unbelievable ways, almost as if they're just doing stuff so the script goes where it wants to.
Story is needlessly bleak to the point it becomes funny, imagine something an edgy teenager would write.
New characters are mostly uninteresting, but forced onto the story anyway.
For almost half of the game, you'll be playing a "side quest" of sorts that its 90% certain you'll find irritating

When you have to go all the way back to the year 2000 and bring up No One Lives Forever as a good game with a female lead. A game that only those of us gaming since the 80s would likely even be old enough to remember, and that mostothers are unfamiliar with. There's probably a problem of representation in your industry.
