It could yes as it's platform agnostic, and we know it plays well with Decima at least. Some people are just passing on it though thinking it is just a sharpening filter, but there is more going on with the intelligent upscaling. There is a small hit to IQ, but in some cases it can look better than DLSS. As with everything it's a trade off, but it could be worth it having it be an option that gets turned on for high frame rate mode ?
I obviously don’t think it’s because of the SSD. I’m wondering why other people think that. I believe the same as you. Games will load 2.5 secs max

As much as I hate to disagree with my brother Bo, I have things reversed so far. For me, TLOU2 was an 8.5 to 9 because they fumbled the story angle. Gameplay was great. Graphics wise though....GoT so far is just...wow. TLOU2 was awesome, but this is surreal. I have great hopes that the story and missions will take the game into the 10 range for me. We shall see. To be fair with the graphics, it might be the style of graphics that is the most striking right now. The color palette is almost dreamlike sometimes or at least I get that feeling. Only got to play for a few hours last night and about to dig in for the evening to play it till I have to go to sleep, but so far GoT is very impressive!

Oh man I’m so excited (yeah I’m not joking) to see what Microsoft will be showing at their July 23rd event!
Also I’m gonna buy Ghost of Tsushima the day after tomorrow, that game looks STUNNING, and I’ve watched the graphical comparison between the retail build VS the E3 build, and yeah most of the changes are the position of the lighting from the sun and some artistic changes, there are some downgrades like textures, some SSR effects have been toned down, but the overall geometry and grass count is much higher in the final game, so it’s a mix of downgrades and upgrades.
I have yet to see anything from Microsoft that can come close to these graphical and technical master classes like Ghost of Tsushima & The Last of Us Part 2, I have a feeling that Halo Infinite won’t impress, don’t know why, but I hope it blows us away!!
Oh and I wanna see what Cyberpunk 2077 looks like running on base PS4 & Xbox One, so exciting! Sony will be DESTROYING it this year with Spider Man Miles Morales, it’ll sell way higher than Halo Infinite as a matter of fact!!

The general concept being the same doesn't tell us much.
If the Series X can properly and quickly determine how to load textures for the front of the characters then that's a huge win, I'm hearing that the PS4's solution is to load the whole texture in then discard what's not needed. This would save ram but no bandwidth and probably take longer.
We are from from making any definitive claims like "microsoft is just renaming existing software"
Not saying that's impossible, but we definitely haven't proved it.

Lock on would make the game too easy. I shouldn't be getting perfect parry all the time. Ai should throw feints & get me off guard with random attack patterns. So far its hard to get a perfect parry. Lock on would suck in ghost.I like the scrambling into stance position to hit the attacks clean & try to get a perfect parry It makes sense for a samurai game. This isn't DMC/Nioh. People want new ,but always want to go back to repeated formulas. Smh.
Lock on shouldn't be here. It's a wild fight. The scrambling into position on your end also gives. Ai a chance to hit you due to bad positioning and focus. Im playing on hard because I'm a hack & slash/From Soft guy. This my Steelio. You Batman Arkham auto chain one button defeats all BS lovers. Go cry somewhere else.
Im on similar lines. Ghost is way more fun than TLOU2. (I finished it on survival) TLOU2 isn't a fun game. Its great but not fun imo. It's a different play element I don't have the words to describe it yet(movie-game). You just play through it all like a tv series. The pacing just became annoying & disinterested me at times & I turned off the PS due to some points just became a drag.Especially near the end. Which we didn't need.It felt like padding time to meet a quota. Im sure the multiplayer will be fun part. But the game plays one way ,linear & its all a one way street. Boss battles are not it. I don't want to go back & play it until the multiplayer is out on it maybe the PS5 boost.
I don't rate the story as people do online. It's ok. I keep seeing crazy praise about the story.If TLOU was a film I wouldn't watch it in the cinema or netflix. So the Story part is ok ,its fine it does what it does. Its their presentation how they make a game like this that sucks me in. If they made other story/game types outside of zombies.That game will be phenomenal.
Anyway Im already having fun in ghost and im nowhere in the game. And I know for a fact I will be going for the platinum. Just so much to do ,see ,find, fight & power up. It does' the most important thing in being fun. TLOU2 was more like a thing to get through like tv series.

After TLOU 2, I’m not spending any more money on this generation. That was the real Swan song. I’m very interested in seeing TLOU’s PS5 upgrade patch. Phenomenal game made even better.

Thts your view and thts cool. I knew someone would make this comment as that is the flip side to this and was my devils advocate thought. I'm playing on hard either way the game isn't hard at all imo. I'm not looking for perfect parriesz not my style I actually like difficulty in my games hence I play all on hard I just don't want to be fighting with my controls to end up in front of the enemy when multiple ppl are around and your trying to fight. I'll stick to my observation and say it's a slight annoyance when fighting multiple ppl you sometimes end up fighting air bcus there is no lock even if your directly in front of them because the multiple ppl wonk things out on occasion and the camera isn't any help.
Funny enough I read reviews after my observation and quite a few ppl point out the same thing "smh"
Btw I thought Tlou 2 was fun as fuck. As long as a game has good to decent combat and feels weighty it'll be fun for me. I think tlou 2 combat is better than almost any game out there.

I agree TLOU2 is very fun. But as for Ghost, the thing I think the combat needs is what God of War does. It re-centers the camera after every attack. It’s so good I turned lock-on off in the settings for God of War. It’s the only game that does this “re-center on attack” feature but it makes the camera so much better, for me.
With Ghost, Jedi Fallen Order, Sekiro, Witcher, Blodborne, etc... I always end up attacking in multiples directions including fighting towards the camera. I don’t like that.
In God of War, I was always able to keep the enemies in front of me and the camera behind my back, and Kratos even rotates his shoulders and hips towards the center of the camera view as he moves in combat, giving me the player control as to where he will strike.
So I never ended up attacking air as you said can happen in Ghost, which also has happened to me. The controls in God of War helped a lot too, excellent control scheme. I wish I could re-map some controls in Ghost, but’s the game is already more fun than Witcher 3 for me. Huge beautiful open world Japan, great combat, and lots more to do.

Not for me.
15 seconds of loading time on a NvMe2 SSD (customized to go even faster) is totally unacceptable.
I will accept nothing less than 5 seconds of loading time, MAX. Everything more than that and it will piss me off, regardless of system. I can accept unoptimized BC games X1X on the Series X or PS4 on the PS5 to be like 10 seconds (in games like the Witcher 3), but optimized next gen games having loading times of more than 5 seconds will piss me off BIG TIME.
We were promised no loading screens. 15 seconds is a loading screen, even if it's a pitch black blank screen.

You mean it's in their guidelines for developers? I've noticed that 7-second transition in the demo too and would like to know the reason for it. Maybe someone could ask Geoff on Twitter? I don't use that platform much.
I was also hoping we'd see anything from PS5 UI but we did not. But the Sony marketing guy was speaking interesting things about their strategy. I need to rewatch it again but I thought he was very open and generally nice. I had never heard of the guy before.
It's impressive how Geoff manages to get high profile interviews from both sides. I've always liked his general enthusiasm for the industry. He hypes things up a lot but I don't mind it.
Many game engines this gen have their own solutions for managing "late textures". SFS does it better and more efficiently but it's nothing new and definitely not "secret sauce". Don't fall in for trolls.

There is no way we will have 15 second load times. Reloading a scene after a death should be near instant. Initial load times for a game shouldnt be long either.
My daughter plays Sims4 on my PC. The game loads all custom content when it starts. Most people have 10GB or less. My daughter now has 130GB of CC and wont delete any of it.
So sims4 would take 1.5 hours to load from a mechanical HDD. I put in an NVMe drive and it now loads in 4.5 minutes. We went from an hour and anhalf to 4 and a half minutes.
Both consoles should load games and respawn points extremely fast.

Dude goes from saying PS5 uses traditional methods like he knows something to I beleive PS5 uses a software based SFS style implementation. It's quite obvious that he doesnt actually know what is in place on PS5.Well, I won't pretend to have "Proven" anything.
Perhaps SFS allows you to only load 5% of mip1 instead of being having to load a quarter of it. Perhaps there is overhead, the discussion continues until it's in everyone's hands.

You don't load 130 GB of data into RAM, maybe 5% of it, at most. It's just the terrible 30-year old Windows file system (among other things) that makes your game load for 4 and a half minutes.

Mate, there won’t be an FPS/res difference between multiplats on Xsex / PS5 (unless they go for a wonky res but it’s not gonna be 4k vs 2k or 60 vs 30).
So far we’ve got a number of cross gen and a few next gen only multiplats and they all are offering same res and FPS.
If you happen to see something that suggests there is a big difference - it’s a mistake or marketing.
That ubi tweet was just stupidity - 4k only on Xbox? Yeah what about PC? Nevermind PS5.

Same with sony and the ps5. No more 30 fps gaes or demos running at 1440p. also the astrobot demo showed a demo running with a 7 second loading screen. I see why sony hasn't shown its ssd in action

The difference stands out to me at first sight.
Saw like stepping on the lines, incomplete frame on the window. CAS looks just like a 1440p upscaled to 4K with very good sharpening filter, there's no magic here and that's why you can use it in every game. DLSS 2.0 has reconstructed missing pixels, so every line is smooth and there are more fine details on the textures.

We dont know whats in ps5 unless you have access to a ps5 dev kit and are under NDA, so everyone saying things does not know what has changed from ps4. Howeverm we do have some cluesas Matt likes to tease on titter
He is hinting here about the preformance implication of Coherency and cache scrubbers, which is actually new hardware Cerny talked about for ps5 which helps with direct memory access DMA, but the tech applies to both CPU and GPU / streaming data.
So Cerny has put in 2 hardware items to speed up, check on and prevent stalls for reading direct to GPU.
The hardware mentioned specfically for XSX is the higher texture Blender for a simpler explanation.
Thats it on the hardware side which has been mentioned upfront by Cerny and Goosen, the rest is just hot air and console warring and bogus claims / FUD.

That was obvious, some devs will always choose to push for graphics, shaders and cie over framerates, you can give them 10, 50 or 100 TF or more, tho 30 will always be there, it's always been a choice and always keep being a choice.
But yeah i can see people, especially some Xbox fans being feel let down after the so many 60 fps and even 120 fps screaming all day by Greenberg and Phil:
It really started become banal to see MS say something and then contradict themselves a bit later.

I found this quite amusing from Gavin Stevens tweets aka Odium. Seems to contradict himself....
The other day he said PS5 works like a traditional system aka loading in a full texture. Read from 11-13.
To admitting PS4 could do the old version in hardware so why would you say PS5 loads the whole texture knowing this and that PS4 didn't have to. Then goes on to say of course PS5 can do it but.... this , that the other RDNA 1, 2 etc.....
Unless of course he is just reacting to our discussions on here where it came more to light that PS4 had this? Strange....
Read the whole tweet chain for apparent discussions with both Microsoft and Sony.... and other tidbits....

The fact that the full game (not the demo he played) will be pre-installed on every PS5 does not mean that the only way to let him play it is by shipping him a PS5.

In short, I wasn’t clear enough or was confusing in my original statements and changed them when it was mentioned, yes. PRT is a hardware based version equivalent to SF that was working on PS4, however future iterations on par with SFS have not been confirmed to have dedicated hardware to support them *yet*. Hence why I asked for clarification.
As for RDNA, I just quoting what the guy who worked on it said to me.
