I'm not talking about Cyberpunk specifically, just early access in general. With my previous points, i think its a good solution given how much bigger and complex games are getting nowadays.
I think this is more of an issue with physical games rather than offline single player ones.

the less features you give the player the less things they have to complain about if those features are not perfect. that's what i'm talking about.
in the witcher you couldn't kill civilians - nobody cared.
you couldn't talk to them and they didn't have routines - nobody cared
no police ai - nobody cared.
you couldn't create your character (but you could change hairstyle) - nobody cared
no different cars to drive - nobody cared.
no life paths - nobody cared.
no deep progression system - nobody cared.
now they added those things (some of them better than others) so you are giving the people ammunition to bash the game if they are not happy with how those system works. the lesson here is remove them unless you can implement those systems in a perfect way. nobody will complain about things they never knew

There are a lot of people playing on base Xbox/PS4 that are enjoying the game with issues and all. The mainstream consumer is not as critical from stuff like the issues in the game on base consoles. Although 1.05 patch really improved things a lot. For anyone reading/posting on a gaming forum, we are going to be more critical of these bugs and issues than your every day consumer.

Good, PC gamers are very happy with Cyberpunk and will preorder Cyberpunk 2 the moment it will be announced.
I just hope that being a PC oriented company will let CDPR to develop for PC as a primary platform and they will not butcher future releases for a more stable console versions like Ubisoft did with all AC games after AC Unity.

of course you won't have cars in the witcher. it's medieval fantasy. however you could have had different horses with different stats or colors. maybe carriages. maybe mount other animals. maybe steal horses from other people.
of course there is not going to be police. again. medieval fantasy. but maybe i could slaughter civilians like the butcher of blaviken and you had a law system in place with guards chasing you and remembering your face. and send bounty hounters after you.
yet the game had none of that. and nobody cared. however cyberpunk does let you kill civilians. and suddenly you are entering gta territory because of that. instead of being in action adventure / rpg territory where nobody cares about that

Fallout 76 got absolutely trashed by everyone... That Star Wars Battlefield game also got trashed specifically for the predatory MTX.. and the outcry is largely what prompted a bunch of loot box legislation to be proposed/passed worldwide.
Nobody thought any of this was OK.

CP2077 has way more roleplaying mechanics than Witcher 3, so no idea what you mean with again, and this time the combat its actually fun with a real skill tree and meaningful paths that affect how you play.

You misunderstand the nature of capitalism. EA and Google are successful because they are catering to a certain demographic. EA are giving some gamers what they want, even if it's not what you want. EA keeps being successful because they're consistently good at what it is they do. In systems other than capitalism, the populace gets what the wise leaders want them to have.
Throughout the years, CD Projekt RED has banked a lot on reputation. The very act of releasing DRM-free games hinges on a measure of trust the game won't be pirated on a mass-scale, something which might be reputation-sensitive.
Had Cyberpunk 2077's release been a flawless hit the game would probably have sold more. And it would glide carefree on its way to the expansions. Now development and QA will probably take loner, marketing probably has to be refactored, stuff will probably be given for free.
Capitalism, in Ayn Rand's sense of the term, has self-correcting mechanisms like no other system.
But you can always opt for Cuba's and North Korea's RPGs.

The N64 have games or a lot of games that runs at 20FPS or less. Didn't care about it honestly back then when i was a lot younger. I enjoyed those games despite that. Now i demand more. I do not accept a game that runs bad. I asked myself why people keep bringing this old games?

Wait an year and it should be fine.I just wish we would get full finished game day one, then we could just talk about how good/bad it is without all this drama.
Every game is better when played an year or more after release. No drama, no fanboys, no haters, no release hype, a game packed with all the important fixes and DLCs along a nice discount.

It's not my favorite from the gen, but I'm really enjoying it. I would definitely put it in my top 15-20. The circle jerk on this game has been wild, people calling it an absolute piece of garage must hate the genre, or haven't played for more than five hours. Of course I'm playing it on Series X, so it runs fine for me.

Legitimately one of the best games I've ever played, so I'm happy to see it storming out of the gates. The ceiling on this must be pretty damn high; add in two years of bug fixes and optimisations, a few rounds of DLC, and a big expansion, and Cyberpunk has the potential for some scary numbers.
