This. When I used to work in Windsor sometimes I'd see Harry doing moring horse patrol with his squad out on the streets. Even though he was in a big group of horsebacked soldiers he was still flanked by 2 bodyguards (Also on horses).

Majority of the UK are in favour of a monarchy.
We tried getting rid of the monarchy in 1649. It was such a disaster that we restored the monarchy in 1660.

The Queen couldn't walk around London naked with a Desert Eagle and start randomly shooting people without any consequences.
The “Queen” and Charles are an embarrassment to the people as well for their protection and support of Jimmy Saville for all of those years.

i quite like the queen but the idea of a king/queen is a bit useless now. they don't have any power. it's all for show and tradition. if the queen could drag boris johnson out of downing street by his scruffy mop then it might be worth it all but if she ever tries interfere with "her" government then she's probably be forced to abdicate or some shit.

It wouldn’t take extraordinary evidence to support their protection of Saville when they’ve obviously also shit the bed on handling Andrew’s problems.
They only decided to take his titles *AFTER* a judge recently ruled this month that a case against Andrew could proceed.
Only *AFTER* they realized that more skeletons would be brought out in a court of law outside of their jurisdiction.
Stripping the titles was a distancing maneuver because they care more about their precious image and themselves than they care about doing the right thing.
If it was about doing the right thing, Andrew would’ve been torched YEARS ago.

I would hate for there not to be a monarchy. The alternative is a Republic. We tried that before. It failed miserably and within a decade we put Charles II back on the throne.
True, the Queen has very little power, but in all honesty would you want the Royal Family to have power to govern? Personally, if be down for an absolute monarchy, but that's just me.
The Royal Family isn't pointless to me. It cost me pennies, brings in tourism and more importantly, they are intergal to my culture, traditions and national identity.
