Yeah, this.

They won't be operating the locations anymore, but they'll probably still keep making arcade games (or at least, I hope so).

I'm not here to speculate on possible acquisitions. That said, there's been a lot of convenient coincidences in terms of MS and Sega business strategies and adjustments the past few years. It wouldn't surprise me if something were in the works.

But there's nothing substantive pointing to one; everything's just a coincidence at this point.

The idea that Microsoft buying SEGA to get them a foothold in Japan is preposterous.

Japan doesn't care about SEGA games outside of what Atlus produces. And even then the reasoning doesn't add up.

Seeing the last reports, it seems studios like AM2 will make more console games than arcade ones(which is not a bad ideas and great for us... let's face it, we won't be able to play their last arcade outputs)

Half true i would say: Yakuza, PSO2, Puyo Puyo, Hatsune Miku, Border Break, and a few others.

No Monster Hunter, no Final Fantasy, no Pokemon, no real blockbuster but a load of semi popular games.

This comment made me double take my conclusion that Sony was going to buy Sega.

I just realized Sega doesnt have anything. They have Sonic and Persona? But their most profitable game might be Football Manager. lol.

But then Sega must be so cheap, they might as well?

When Microsoft announces they will be acquiring Sega (after acquiring Capcom, Konami, EA, Sony and Ubisoft but not Nintendo because my uncle told me they're friends) we will transcend to a higher plane where Hedgehogs, Cogs, Cowadoodys, Vault Dwellers, Weeb-favorite anime characters and Master Chiefs all frollick together in a vast sea of green controlled by one massive corporation that will dictate our every purchase and only allow us to consume what it dictates in exchange for the adrenochrome from our first born children.
