I mean, he's right. In a race to the bottom quality will no doubt take a hit as cost saving measures kick in.
I actually would like Sony to do more AA and smaller or artsy games.
I would definitely like to see them pursue a more rpg game but I doubt they ever will. One things Sony can't do very well is the RPG games. While horizon and God of War have some element RPG, it's not really a true RPG games.
Yep, I've got concrete genie. I'll wait for a ps5 to get that sackboy game and I'm not into making my own games. Would have also liked another game like the puppeteer.
Last of us graphic with RPG game would a chefs kiss for me.I would definitely like to see them pursue a more rpg game but I doubt they ever will
That is what I said. Stop talking about subscription service devaluing your games. They do let their sales do the talking for them?
Less than 2 years and 470 Million pieces of software sold?
Their games chart everytime they have stock?
I think the results show they have the right plan....for them.
It's like i can see where this is going...basically release games like Life is Strange. In chapters...like we get TV shows on streaming platforms or something. Yeah...no. I'd rather get the full game experience and pay for it full price.
Where's Sackboy? Ratchet? Killzone? Gran Turismo? Dreams? Spider-Man? Concrete Genie? Returnal? That probably wouldn't fit the narrative, right?
Funny thing is that picture was created to mock people that criticize PlayStation games...and it's now being used like a serious thing by that same crowd, lmao.
Let me grab the Nintendo template. I'm sure they also have trees in more than 2 games...or MS.
That is what I said. Stop talking about subscription service devaluing your games.
If your games sell well, then don't put it on subscription service.
What does that have to do with the PlayStation template where all the games supposedly look the same?On the Nvidia leaked list?In the PC porting studios?
Am I going to be eaten alive by nuclear weaponized autism for making this joke?

You'd need a massive change in Sony's game making mindset for that to happen.Last of us graphic with RPG game would a chefs kiss for me.
What does that have to do with the PlayStation template where all the games supposedly look the same?
If they come out on PC they are still the same games...they are still PlayStation games, lmao.
Reminder, this genius says Gamepass needs to make $5 BILLION a month to be viable.
This is not true, plenty large budget Netflix productions out and due out. There are lower budget productions on every channels and across every production company in the world. No lies detected.
The model they are trying to emulate is Netflix. Most shows on Netflix are of low quality , quantity over quality mentality. You just cant have it both was.
How is it obvious? I presume you have numbers to back up this "obvious " claim? It's not something that can be proven unless Microsoft came out and said it. This Sony employee has no idea the financial impact GP has and is having on game budgets within Microsoft Studios. Simply put his comment is not worth the time it takes to read it.I think this is pretty obvious to anyone without a bias. Gamepass is just a Microsoft thing, and it's nothing wrong with that.
I don't even understand why you are comparing this to videostreaming subscriptions. That's comparing apples to oranges.Microsoft can afford having xbox making no money at all for as long as they want, xbox is only 9% of their revenue. Cash flow at lost still lost. The best you can hope is being on black but investors don't like that because you have to show potential growth. Is like Netflix struggle doesn't teach people anything, even with their budget stuff they are crying because is not enough and how many subscribers they have? also TV shows doesn't take 5 years or more to make.
Also how hbo backtrack with their day and date movies release?
I mean there is like a ton of evidence but let's ignore that
Exactly, the Netflix comparison doesn't work at all. Games have several additional income sources, while Netflix doesn't. That's the entire reason why Microsoft started doing Gamepass.I don't even understand why you are comparing this to videostreaming subscriptions. That's comparing apples to oranges.
With what games?. They were the highest rated publisher of the year in 2021 for a reason.
Playstation Studios character renders are really something. Look at the textures on his shirt.i agree with him , dude is honest

Does Microsoft gives those numbers? This is not true, plenty large budget Netflix productions out and due out. There are lower budget productions on every channels and across every production company in the world.

dude is a true professional , reminds me of kaz hiraiPlaystation Studios character renders are really something. Look at the textures on his shirt.
Even if we assume he meant budget and not quality, Ubisoft is also making a lot of high budget games and they have a premium subscription service. Seems to work well for them.Ms won publisher of the year while releasing games through gamepass
Yeah that's why they want to sellEven if we assume he meant budget and not quality, Ubisoft is also making a lot of high budget games and they have a premium subscription service. Seems to work well for them.
If you're implying that Ubisoft is not only doing poorly, but doing so because of Ubisoft+, you gotta show more evidence than some acquisition rumor.Yeah that's why they want to sell
Do Ubisoft add day 1 releases to Ubisoft +? If not, I’m not sure what point you are trying to make.If you're implying that Ubisoft is not only doing poorly, but doing so because of Ubisoft+, you gotta show more evidence than some acquisition rumor.
I mean Ubisoft + should solve their problems right? Or why they don't release on ps and xbox?If you're implying that Ubisoft is not only doing poorly, but doing so because of Ubisoft+, you gotta show more evidence than some acquisition rumor.
I wouldn't mention if it wasn't the case.Do Ubisoft add day 1 releases to Ubisoft +? If not, I’m not sure what point you are trying to make.
Yep. Not sure about the second part of your statement but the cfo IS trying to push sony's strategy over Microsoft's. We have not seen a deterioration in quality in game pass games. In fact, you could argue that Microsoft is making better games NOW compared to the Xbox one days prior to gp.Of course they would say that. Just an opportunity for Sony to claim gamepass/xbox is bad. If i want to only play 3rd person adventure games ill get a playstation.
Has ubisoft shown any numbers to indicate that it's service is profitable?I wouldn't mention if it wasn't the case.
Nah, Sony also made very different games like Dreams, Gran Turismo 7, Death Stranding, Sackboy, Demon's Souls, MLB The Show, Returnal, Ratchet, Detroit Become Human, Bloodborne and many more like VR games as Astro's Rescue Mission or Firewall Zero Hour that got great reviews and sales. What makes a game "Quality" is the real question? Is it this...

Seems the loud majority have decided that 3rd person single player adventure games are the bar for which "quality" is judged. Beyond this one genre of games I don't see where Sony's "quality" is any better than any other developer.
I have no idea about the service, but the whole company is profitable and every year keep increasing their revenue. So at least the service doesn't stops them from being profitable.Has ubisoft shown any numbers to indicate that it's service is profitable?
Ubisoft always said they don't want to sell and in fact there are rumors they are partnering with some big guys to keep control of the company and block any possible hostile takeover. They are very successful, so logically -even more in an industry consolidation context- some people got interested on them and when someone makes them an offer they politely hear them, but don't want to sell.Yeah that's why they want to sell
Fair enough, but then it is $14.99 a month on its own, so almost $180 a year. I don’t think I’ve ever spent that much on Ubi titles in a yearI wouldn't mention if it wasn't the case.
Lol, such bs. Let's not pretend you aren't doing it because the quality will go lower, you're not doing it because you believe you can get more money out of consumers when you sell it day one. The Playstation division is making a profit, you could allocate that profit towards putting your games on a subscription service.
These geniuses were CEOs and CFOs, what do you do?Reminder, this genius says Gamepass needs to make $5 BILLION a month to be viable.
It's so obvious that nobody can actually describe in what way it is obviousWe reached that level where Sony have to say the most obvious thing like this stuff![]()
So you seriously believe a streaming service needs to make $5 billion a month to be viable. These geniuses were CEOs and CFOs, what do you do?
Lmao, it this list bait? No way a "discussion" can get more lame than this, so Sony doesn't make too many FPS is that your complain? They just bought Bungie, so problem solved. As if Spider-Man, God of War, Uncharted, Returnal, Horizon, etc, were all a copy of each other. How stupid do you think we are? What makes a game "Quality" is the real question? Is it this...
