This just means there's not going to be a PS5 Pro for the next 3 years at least.Get ready for PS5 Pro to be

Companies will always seek to produce the amount of items that maximize their profits, or more accurately they will always price a product to maximize profits at the given supply. The fact that you made it seem like so grand conspiracy to fuck over consumers was funny I suppose. No idea why you would expect gaming to work different than other business. If people are stupid enough to waste money because of FOMO, that's on them. As a business owner of a company producing unnecessary luxury goods absolutely nobody needs (but plenty of people desire), you have an obligation to maximize profits.Where's your counter argument?
Yeah, it’s crazy but in a good way. I paid £4 for Evil Dead and about £3.50 for Rogue Legacy 2, both on launch day.Just check out the Argentinian keys and your head would probably fall off in shock - Koa the Kangaroo was £3 on launch day.
well thats been always overpriced so i think it will be somewhat 2k€Imagine what the iPhone 14 is going to come in at.

I love the fact he leans his head back the last ~2 frames just to make sure you see his shit eating grinTop secret footage of Jim Ryan after the increase:

Sadly only short term in stock market idiocy....you have an obligation to maximize profits.
Apple is doing the same thing, but yeah, you can only do it when you have a sort of monopoly or you'd eat the loss of profit and just roll with it.Jeez, I know inflation has been killing many industries lately but Sony passing on the costs to consumers is just a low blow. If neither Microsoft or Nintendo follow suit with similar price increases for their hardware, this will look especially bad.
They will lose market share without question, the acceptance of this kind of practice from it's customers/fans is really borderline insanity.People are willing to pay scalpers.
Given how the average gamer has accepted your games got a 20 usd price increase, 10 percent extra on a console is not something that would bite Sony in the ass. They are the market leader, and will continue to do so.
I'm sure Sony appreciates that you think about the company and not their customers.
Absolutely right.Sadly only short term in stock market idiocy.
Short term this will probably be good, for Sony, but the PR backlash, will hurt them long term. In a gen where your main competitor has the better hw, has a cheap second good enough option, has the day 1 also PC subscription service and should be able to compete at first party games to some extend soonish. If the market overall doesn't grow and they actually lose market share at least like in 360 era, the plan to maximize profit with this will backfire.
If MS does anything with their prices now, Sony will have to do a 180 like MS with their used games policy and Sony with closing the PS3 Vita stores... I kind of hope MS does something crazy with their prices. It would be hilarious.
Hopefully nothing is next.So we had the Quest 2 and the PS5 with raised prices. Question is, who’s next?
Fucking Jim Ryan… Glad I snatched mine last year. So what does this tell us about a theoretical PS5 Pro?
Defends it then immediately says he's not defending itThey are selling all they can make immediately so why not make more money? I'm not defending this but what does Sony care if they anger people? They will remain loyal anyway.
Why he's perma banned?
This would have needed a change from the 12-channel controller down to a standard 8-channel one using higher clocks. This could probably be done, but it would require a new PCB, QA, etc. It wouldn't be a seamless transition of changing the chips.1 TB storage instead of 825 GB would probably been a pretty small BOM increase. Small stuff like that could’ve made it look less greedy while effectively still achieve their goal.
Corporate profiteering is okay because I can explain it.Companies will always seek to produce the amount of items that maximize their profits, or more accurately they will always price a product to maximize profits at the given supply. The fact that you made it seem like so grand conspiracy to fuck over consumers was funny I suppose. No idea why you would expect gaming to work different than other business. If people are stupid enough to waste money because of FOMO, that's on them. As a business owner of a company producing unnecessary luxury goods absolutely nobody needs (but plenty of people desire), you have an obligation to maximize profits.
In this climate, releasing a Pro would be such a dumb decision...What would be the selling point, anyway? Play in 8K?
I can try:
£480?
hahahaha no thanks. guess i won't be getting a PS5 any time soon.
my ps5 sounds like a jet engine!
18%?Inflation in the UK is predicted to hit 18% (currently 10.1%). So I suppose Sony will be putting it up to £510-530 next year!?
Those things are needed to live. One of them isnt..If an extra £30 on a console is such a shocker to you in the current economy, I'd suspect you don't pay for your own housing, utilities, fuel and food!
obviously i was joking that i had a PS5 with the "jet engine" comment. i was making fun of the people who describe their playstation as such (the PS4 was actually super quiet!). if you had snooped on all my other PS5 related posts you'd see it's clear i do not own a PS5 and don't intend to get one any time soon.Meanwhile... :
