I think it’s safe to say that if you don’t have your console connected online at all times, you might have a bigger issue than Redfall requiring an online connection.
100% expect Starfield to be the same.
Maybe on PC. I would be shocked if its that way on Xbox. That would be a real shit show.100% expect Starfield to be the same.
One of the main things I like about Xbox is backwards compatibility and the longevity of their older games. These servers will be shut down in 10 years and then the game is unplayable. So not only would this matter in 2023, it will matter even more in 2033.Who gives a fuck in 2023 ?
The problem is that it relies on Xbox Live to always be up to play the game.I think it’s safe to say that if you don’t have your console connected online at all times, you might have a bigger issue than Redfall requiring an online connection.
Is there any MP component to Starfield?
I expect them to start doing it with more and more games, especially their giant AAA games with massive budgets.Maybe on PC. I would be shocked if its that way on Xbox. That would be a real shit show.
I can’t think of a time it was down. The problem is that it relies on Xbox Live to always be up to play the game.
Seriously, gamers ain't shit lmao. "This is just a corporation taking more control over the things we own. What could go wrong?"Western gaming is in such a state of anti-consumer shite lmao.
You clearly dont understand the root of the issue here...Crying about always online in 2023? Who cuts off the internet after downloading a game?
Its a GAAS game with loot and all that jazz. it can be played single player like Destiny, would you expect that to have an offline mode?I was vocal about this in the GT7 thread and will be here as well. This is fucking stupid. If i want to play a single player game i should not have any requirement for an online connection. I know the argument every always throws out these, "its 2023 if you dont have a stable internet connection blah blah blah" Guess what internet goes out sometimes, additionally like what happend with GT7 if thier servers are fucked you cant play your game (single player) when you want after paying a premium. Utter bullshit.
MS buying the publisher didn’t stop it for this gameThat's basically every offline Blizzard/Activision game, including Tony Hawk. That's why I hope the Microsoft deal goes through. They might also put an end to their exclusive launcher too.
Toasters weren't online last year?![]()
You can use this website. https://downdetector.com/status/xbox-live/I can’t think of a time it was down.
You cant be that denseI think it’s safe to say that if you don’t have your console connected online at all times, you might have a bigger issue than Redfall requiring an online connection.
This new age SJW are sure as hell annoyingI have bigger concerns for this game, including its hyper political character lineup and rumor of it being pushed out early by Bethesda.
Isn't this kind of ironic considering you're in a thread about a MS purchased publisher doing it right now? That's basically every offline Blizzard/Activision game, including Tony Hawk. That's why I hope the Microsoft deal goes through. They might also put an end to their exclusive launcher too.
Really. You have a short memory....I can’t think of a time it was down.
Yes its stupid that destiny requires online to play single player. I thought i made my stance pretty clear. If you have no intention of playing online why are you forced into this BS? I completely understand the requirement for multi-player and the requirement that come along with that. I think an easy solution here is to have a single player campaign mode that is completely separate form the inline mode which does not require online. Seems fairly simple to implement and would cause no balance issues to the online component. Everyone has an option at that point. Its a GAAS game with loot and all that jazz. it can be played single player like Destiny, would you expect that to have an offline mode?
I agree with the GT7 thing though as it has a true single player experience, this as far as im aware does not
Yep, it's 2023 people. Even your toaster is online.
So GT7 being always online wasn't a dumb decision after all, right? They're increasingly more toasty and online now![]()
Returns from ban instantly returns Phils balls to his throatSo GT7 being always online wasn't a dumb decision after all, right?

No, I honestly don’t remember that. Did it affect every user? I do t remember a time a couldn’t play a game because my internet was down, or Xbox live or ps network were down.Really. You have a short memory....

I just find it annoying to have to sign up to play a single game and don’t want to have multiple accounts everywhere. It’s very inconvenient imo. Why?

678 problems were recorded just in the last 24 hours.
"Xbox app not loading games and connection is very bad I contacted FastCybbers on tēlęgråm and he got it fixed for me"
"Xbox problem still persists; asks me to sign in with account that "owns the game" I want to play no matter which game I try. i reach out to Jillcybberz on tēlęgråm and he resolved the issue in no time and am back enjoying my favorite game"
You don't need the online subs to access the single player games.Glad I’m on PC. No way would I be paying an online subscription to access my single player games.

Both have gone down multiple times. Consider yourself lucky that it has not impacted you.No, I honestly don’t remember that. Did it affect every user? I do t remember a time a couldn’t play a game because my internet was down, or Xbox live or ps network were down.
Its there not already enough barriers to entry?Only takes a minute or two, I wouldn't let it put me off a game. Just make a crappy email account that you can use for throwaway stuff like that if you don't want to use your main address.
It's all about control and ensuring the player base is a click away from seeing MTX horseshit. So buy the game and then wait for them to turn off the servers potentially a few years down the line? I’m honestly not sure why this needs to be online all the time. Isn’t it a fully single player game if you decide not to play coop? Seems fucking wild to me.
How about having single player games you paid for, being deactivated remotely by the publisher?Don’t see the big deal for requiring online. Complaining about not having internet is like complaining about not having electricity to power up your console.
Destiny is not a single player game though. A Separate offline single player mode would be pointless. Im not sure how the online works in this game yet but im sure its integral, otherwise it wouldnt be there, like the rest of arkanes gamesYes its stupid that destiny requires online to play single player. Yes, but Redfall isn't on the Switch. Some people take their consoles to their grandparents house during the summer. No internet.
i dont understand why people always use the "what year is it" argument, its stupid.I think it’s safe to say that if you don’t have your console connected online at all times, you might have a bigger issue than Redfall requiring an online connection.
