Split Fiction Smashes First Weekend in the UK, Physical Sales Dominated by PS5

After It Takes Two was confirmed to have sold over 20 million copies to date, it remains to be seen whether Split Fiction can replicate that huge success, but its early performance on the UK's physical chart is certainly encouraging.

The game has debuted at number one, with 89 per cent of those physical copies being the PS5 version. Its predecessor proves that there's an appetite for this type of high-octane co-op experience, so while it isn't a direct It Takes Two sequel, we imagine it'll do very well for itself throughout 2025.

It displaces the mighty Monster Hunter Wilds, which moves down to second after topping the chart last week.

Other new releases, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars and Two Point Museum, also debut in the top 10, at fourth and ninth respectively.

Here's the latest UK top 10 in full (physical sales only).

UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 8th March, 2025

  1. Split Fiction
  2. Monster Hunter Wilds
  3. The Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies
  4. Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars
  5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  6. Minecraft (Switch)
  7. PGA Tour 2K25
  8. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
  9. Two Point Museum
  10. Super Mario Party Jamboree

Mod Edit: No need for a separate UK sales thread since we already have one up (you’re also the same OP of that thread).

This is pretty common platform breakdown isn’t it? It’s also why it’s easier and cheaper for Sony to secure third party exclusives with each passing year. The problem is also compounded by the series S being a pain to develop for.
