If your 14900K is working fine, probably will depend on a game and your GPU. Doubt you are going to have issues with 14900K even if you get the 5090.

Edit: Unless you are into very high FPS MP games and are running like 1080p.

Doubt it’s going to be noticeable enough to spend the money swapping to the new AMD platform from Intel.

Really depends on what games one plays of course and what res/GPU.

I don't do anything heavy work related on my PC outside of gaming. I made the mistake before when switching from 7800x3d to 7950x3d.

what a waste of money that was. Not gonna do the same. if this is available in Feb in Canada, by Sept we will be hearing / announcement of 10800x3d or whatever its gonna be called. so Pass for me. I am just waiting for the 5090 at this point or 5080 ( depending on the pricing thanks to our shitty Canadian $ value these days )

Disappointing if there isn't extra cache on both CCD's. I guess the good news is that it runs at same frequency as the 9950. I also use my PC for software dev and the extra 8 cores will really help so I will have to decide between the 9950x and 9950x3d.

I’ll skip the 9950X3D and hopefully the “10950X3D” is supported by my motherboard.

I can use this money towards a 5090…maybe. If I need to buy a new case/PSU then forget it.
