I'm simply stating a general fact. It's going to be cheap and reliable. Publishers and developers are obviously going to use it.

And of course stealing is undeniably wrong.

AI will inevitably replace most, if not all, voice actors. The technology is advancing so quickly that it’s only a matter of time before fully AI-generated performances become indistinguishable from human ones. Personally, I can't wait for the era of voiceless games to be a thing of the past.

There will come a point when machines don't make mistakes, and the only mistakes, will be the human part. Humans make errors.

I work in ML/AI. What you are saying is not wrong at all. But conflating art with performing rote tasks is silly. Statistical noise isn't creativity. It can produce pleasing results with enough of it. Think 1000 monkeys on 1000 type writers. But humans will have the advantage here until our fundamental mathematical approach to AI is different, this isn't just a more or better sort of training thing. There is no reason to push for AI to replace human jobs in creative fields, it is far better suited to replacing rote tasks in operational fields.

And yes good voice acting is art.

They’re mostly taunts, intro and kill lines, some contextual sound bits ingame, and the occasional videos for major updates.
As it’s a free to play, there is a constant stream of new content to keep things fresh, and some of it is voice based.

The use of AI in game development is inevitable, but taking the rights off existing voice actors to use there voices through AI is another level of scummy. They could use it indefinitely and potentially in numerous unrelated projects.
