Brand new Katamari Damacy game announced, exclusive to Apple Arcade

That's right, after a long hiatus from brand new titles, Katamari Damacy is finally returning, exclusively to Apple Arcade on your iPhone.

Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE by Bandai Namco Entertainment
In this quirky action game — an Apple Arcade exclusive — players expand their Katamari by rolling up objects scattered across the earth. Featuring unique and whimsical gameplay, and a captivating soundtrack that blends different genres, the game invites players to energize the king’s “live stream” by rolling their Katamari to create stars. As users advance, comments from in-game fans appear, and the longer they play, the larger their audience grows. By completing the king’s challenges and boosting their subscriber count, players can unlock dynamic new stages.

You guys all have phones, right?

Shit, I’m stoked! I have Apple Arcade anyway since it comes with my icloud shit. Thereve been some bangers on there the last year. This’ll have controller support and will probably be awesome.

I’d say don’t fret to everyone else. Usually Apple Arcade original games end up getting released on other platforms after a while.

Oh dope it seems like it has an original OST too 👏

The good news is that this isn't the same name as the other title, Once Upon a KATAMARI, which was recently trademarked.

Honestly though, seeing the game running widescreen on the phone is cool. I hope it comes to Android.

I can stomach it being on phones, but being Apple exclusive on top of that is a dealbreaker.

It would look even better on my ultrawide xperia, but Apple says we can't have nice things. Judging by how Sonic Dream Team is still stuck on Apple Arcade, I don't expect a port anytime soon, if ever.
