Not a big fan of the last season. Also they completely missed the chance to adapt Symphony of the Night by redeeming Dracula.
It seems like they might be slowly building towards a modified version of both Dracula’s revival and SoTN. We have to see where the next few seasons take us.

Hated the first season. Not a patch on the original show.

Saying that I thought the original lost most of it's steam by the end. The first few episodes were absolutely amazing though.

It has gotten worse and worse and I can't put my finger on it but there is something about the show now that makes me not want to watch it anymore.

Maybe we can get Asmongold, Vara Dark, and Jaffe on the case and get to the bottom of it.

I think they can still get there. Or get to a version of it.

Yeah the original series started off really strong and then had a really dull season. The last half of the last season was mostly good though...Hopefully Nocturne season 2 gets back on track.

No thx.
First season had a similar trailer that was mostly a bait and switch as Richter felt like a lame secondary character.
The animation quality was also really poor.

I'm in for OP SotN tier Alucard. Everything else is things that happen before, between, and after those moments. If it happens to be enjoyable, even better.

The show would be so much better if the characters weren’t try-hard edgelords constantly f-bombing (among others).

The gay romance also felt forced / tagged on for DEI points.

Unfortunately there is so much useless filler in this season.

The first season of Nocturne went off the rails from the original series. For quite a few reason, one being the writer of the original Series being dropped due to controversy .

It feels way to forced with Annette story. It throws off the whole show. It’s a shoe horned character that doesn’t feel needed in the world of Castlevania.

Given to much back story for the night creatures feels off as well. They’re lesser monsters and should just be fodder for the Belmonts.

They really should’ve just went back and told the story of Simon Belmont. Played out the original game story and I would think there would be more interest there.

I’m doubtful this is going to get a third season.

Yeah, this season felt like it had wayyyy better production values than the first--the animation in those last two episodes was god-tier.

Unfortunately, I don't see a season 3 in the cards. The story was complete and was already hanging by a thread without Dracula.

They'd be better off adapting SOTN at this point.

I was disappointed in Richter's fighting ability in the first season but once he gets access to the Seeker elemental magic he inherited from Sypha, its easy to see why he is the most powerful Belmont.

The first Castlevania show on Netflix was fantastic, but I kept getting bored and stopping in Nocturne

I'd like to see a return to the original characters

Nocturne feels like a badly written fanfic.

It's exhausting to hear people go on and on about woke and DEI, but this is a legitimate example of when woke/DEI goes wrong and is a problem with production.

The writing crew of this pretty big budget animated season has no real writing experience and I'm not against people getting writing experience, but maybe that should be earned and not simply given with a full runway, especially if your entire reason for taking a job is to insert yourself as a main character in a pre-existing story. It's as if they brought together the least experienced writing team they could.

Just finished this up yesterday. I was on the last two episodes when I wrote my earlier comment, and this season got worse as it wrapped up.

In no way did they need a creole opera singer in a Castlevania series.

The whole Egyptian storyline felt out of context for Castlevania and a forced narrative to make relevance for specific characters within this season and last.

The writers could've just went with the Castlevania X or Symphony of the Night story and made that into an animated series.

I'm 90% sure they won't be continuing a new spin off season based in the Castlevania universe.

What are the chances of a relatively small franchise like Castlevania getting a show with six seasons? This will probably never happen again.

Season 1 was a letdown overall coming off of the very good initial Castlevania Series. But I was comitted because I want to see more more shows like this greenlit overall and hopefully watching all the way through helps make that happen. Luckily epsiode 7 and 8 were very strong and visually stunning. The writing is not quite there, still.. but It was a move back in the right direction. Here is to hope that more stories in this world are greenlit before too long!

I love castlevania but I stopped watching this after the first show's 2nd season. Way too woke and the writing is abysmal and I heard it just got way worse after that. The edginess of the show is really dumb imo. I get that castlevania is dark but when I play the games they're also charming to me. The show doesn't feel castlevania at all outside of the music and visuals, and it feels like it was created by and edgy teen.
