I haven't tested Uncharted since a long time but I don't remember DLSS being ghastly, let alone Forza that I played just an hour ago with DLAA and it looks amazing. Not sure what's the issue but it's probably not the fault of DLSS because minus a few early games implementation, it's now very solid.In the side by side PSSR looked much better and cleaner to me while they kept commenting it was worse, but what do I know. I also disagree with the whole Alex "I don't have to comment on image quality with DLSS these days". Plenty of games I've played recently have mediocre DLSS implementations, often much worse than stuff we've seen with PSSR. I was playing Uncharted 4 and DLSS even on quality looked awful, same for Forza where even DLAA was ghastly. I disabled it on both and I'm playing at native. As someone that uses both DLSS and PSSR, I'd say they are very comparable in terms of the actual gaming experience and most differences are superficial unless you stand completely still and zoom in. No Ai solution is absolutely perferct and they can all exhibit issues, both major and minor.
Lastly, the whole "PSSR is comparable to FSR2" angle is absolutely bollocks. FSR completely breaks apart in motion, a pretty important aspect of playing games. It's not even in the same ballpark during motion. In Jedi survivor for example with exaggerated animations and fast movement the FSR issues were too obvious on the base PS5 version (where I finished it) and I have no idea why they don't mention it.

Far from ghastly, and the IQ is perfect rather it is in motion or while standing still (and not to mention compression). Now what I am seeing in this for Jedi Survivor video is terrible, THIS is ghastly.

The game still uses DLSS 3.1 which came out over two years ago. Which uses a ML model that was released in 2022.Massive improvement over the first patch, great to see.

Just checked my game catalog. Over 1400 games of ps4 and ps5.
Been a playstaion fan since 94. Owned every ps console. And psp and vita.
Not sure what qualifies here as a ps fan .
But yeah maybe i should go the the xbox boards.
Not sure how to engage there with people as after the 360 i didnt own a single xbox console.

So when DLSS 4 comes out they will compare it again with PSSR in this game and other for example? The PSSR just released of course it need work and to be improved. Sony said it themselves. Is DLSS 3.1 bad? Why it has to be compared to the latest DLSS.Going by the video, PSSR does look sharper than DLSS in motion in this game but like Alex said this game is using an older version of DLSS which is DLSS 3.1, so this isn't comparing the latest version of DLSS with PSSR. If Jedi Survivor used the newest version of DLSS then the results might be different.

Yep maybe, I should give it another try but I'm lazy. And that doesn't change what I said nor my examples, Uncharted 4 is the exception, not the norm.I played Uncharted 4 on PC, and it looked terrible with DLSS. Easily one of the worst implementations of the tech.
It was extremely blurry, even after changing the dll.
DLSS in Forza produces some of the worst ghosting I've seen in any game. It's absolutely broken in my eyes and I'm not sure how the issue can be from my side and not the game. Honestly i havent tried the psvr2 yet. I bought a ps5 pro last week and im stoked how good the image quality is.. it's crazy. Can't wait too see how the future games will look if the current games looks so good.I am hooked on psvr2 currently.
The pro updates make a difference.
Gt7 now looks and play great.
But again that freakin motiin sickness just doesnt want to go away.
Taking gravol prior of each session helps.
Ultrawings 2 though really gets me.
But i can honestly say psvr2 came around big time and should be a muat have for vr fans
