do you live within walking distance of supermarket/grocery store?

for the last couple of years I've lived on the same block as a Salvadorian market. it's at the corner on my street so about a 30 second walk.

despite the prices being more expensive on everything other than meat and produce, I find myself pretty much only shopping there due to the extreme convenience

I'll still go to Trader Joes once every few months, but otherwise I just love that I can just buy enough groceries for each meal. that way I never have to worry about anything spoiling.

I never knew how much I would appreciate this. anyone else relate? to be fair, it is probably largely due to the fact I live in Los Angeles so I try to avoid getting on the road whenever possible.

It’s a five minute drive or a 40 minute walk, so drive it is!
I work in the same plaza as a Publix though, so most of my shopping is just popping in there after work.

Deep in a suburban area, there is nothing besides other houses within reasonable walking distance.

UK. there are shops everywhere. There is one round the corner from me. A 2 min walk. It just a small convenience store.

Supermarkets are 15 walk. Tesco, LIDL, Costco.

At work there are multiple small stores across the road. Another LIDL is 5 minute walk.

10 minute drive and you have another Tesco and 2 ASDAs.

15-20 minute drive and you have large retail parks with supermarkets and all sorts of other stores. Furniture, fashion, pet/vets, restaurants, banks, etc.

City centre or “downtown” is 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive.

I don’t really drive much anymore. Either walk or cycle. It takes me about 20 minutes to walk to work or 7 minutes cycling.

I live about a mile from a grocery store. I could walk if I wanted, but I usually just stop in while I'm out doing other things.

Technically yes but it's a long enough walk that I'd rather drive. I actually have a grocery store, home depot, fast food, sit down restaurant, gas station and hospital all within that same distance. The only thing I'm really missing is an electronics store.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Nearest store (a convenience store, basically only selling soda, candy, and alcohol) is about a 20-minute walk - about 3/4 of a mile away from my house. There are two grocery stores in town, both about a 15-minute drive away.

It's one thing I absolutely loved about Japan when I visited last year, everything was so extremely walkable. Wish it was like that here.

Yes, but i like to look at it as a 15 second drive. I could probably get there by the time i open up the gate and reverse out of the driveway now that i think about it.

Weirdly i still usually drive to another town to get groceries. One can never have enough car pollution.

5~8 minute walk depending on the choice of supermarket.
I don't mind, I love walking. I have being walking my entire life, when we were little me and my twin brother used to take a 25 minute walk to my school (my teachers used to scold my parents often for this, some even offered us a ride). Shopping is about 10~15 minutes depending on the shopping.

Yes, I live in Houston. I have a grocery store 2 blocks away and I have a Mexican taqueria/panadería/carnicería that also sells groceries 3 blocks away.
I also have a CVS pharmacy several taquerías and fast-food restaurants, barbers, a tireshop and banks within walking distance of my house.

There's a 10 min walk away and also 25 minute walks in different directions to various strip malls.

I get Walmart, a couple grocery stores, Best Buy, Home Depot, my bank brand, a ton of eateries and drug stores etc.... But fuck, the nearest Costco is a 20 min drive away. Damn.

I live near a metro line. There's a supermarket right across the street. If I need to goto costco it's only a couple train stops away.

There's almost no point for me to drive.

5 minutes walking. It is pretty shit, as their shelves are often empty and have a very limited assortment of fruit and vegetables.

One of the cashiers is super cute though.

I live in a suburban town in the US and theres a grocery store about 5 minutes away by foot. Its kind of a pretentious place (Lowe's Foods) though. If i want to go to the slightly cheaper but not lower quality store it's more like 20 minutes.

I’m maybe a 10 minute walk/1 minute drive from a large grocery store. Also, like a 5 minute walk from the mountain and hiking. It’s a nice balance of suburban convenience and nature.

In Spain, walking distances aren't a problem. Even living on the seaside, I'm just 30-minute walk from a big supermarket, with small groceries and convenience shops along the way.

I've got two that are about 5-10 minutes away. They have slightly different wares so I mix between the two, but one of them is quite cheaper so I'll go there for foodstuffs. Though I'll do my monthly bigger shopping in the biggest and cheapest store 15 minutes away by car. I think it's really good that I don't have a kiosk/cornerstore 1 minute away as it'd be too easy to get a chocolate bar here and there.

Suburbs so about a mile away. I could walk it but I'm not going to try and lug a weeks worth of groceries home especially considering the road home isn't made for pedestrians.

Yes. It's about a 5-10 minute walk depending on which supermarket. I have three to choose from that lies in close vicinity from where I live.
