Dragon Ball executive producer Akio Iyoku recently opened up about Dragon Ball Daima in an interview with Mantan Web ahead of its grand finale (as translated by @Venixys on X), and here he was asked about the future of the franchise overall. With this newest project coming to an end without any potential new releases on the horizon just yet, Iyoku shared a very promising update for the anime’s future. Teasing a further expansion of the franchise, Iyoku teased there was no doubt that the franchise will keep going for “decades to come.”

I doubt they would let it die, it's a globally famous franchise.
The quality of the series on the other hand would be questionable. With Akira death (rest in peace, legend), I doubt they would have a quality control over the other guy writting.

Not surprising but also not really exciting.
Super mostly sucked despite Toriyama still being involved (I did like the Superhero movie though), can't imagine it getting better now that he's gone.

I’ll watch whatever they put out as long as it’s consistent. I enjoy the new stories.

Dbz is the most popular anime of all time, that it will continue to have products made for it isn't really surprising, or news really.

On the one hand, I love Dragon Ball.
But on the other, it seems they are milking the series for all it's got. And my fear is that they are going to run it to the ground.

This is one of those series that I don't think needs to have generational newness like Power Rangers or Ninja Turtles. What they can do is instead do annual/every two year movies with characters and some new ones as side stories, but not entirely new on going series.

Unless they make Gohan lead, then I will change stance.

Or maybe teen Pan, I guess.

The manga for Super has finally moved onto Trunks and Goten as teenagers which opens up a lot of potential, hopefully they keep the quality in check somehow, we don't want a Super Dragon Ball Heroes story but even then, Toriyama was the most involved with Daima and a lot of folks think that's a disappointment.

DBZ’s frieza namakin saga was incredible, cell android saga felt like ancient dragon ball, buu saga felt weird, dragon ball super is amazing, Gas, Goro, Granola, Black Frieza (who they can’t seem to find) are likely new episodes.

Not really jiving with the latest Dragon Ball manga. I have yet to watch Daima, but reading Super was quite disappointing honestly. The fights aren't interesting and I personally dont really like the art style of Toyotaro. I think it's okay to let the series take a rest.

The biggest minus in Super is the terrible art, most of the time during fights, you have no idea what's going on.

I know Toriyama is a genius, but going back and reading the regular Dragonball to Z, his paneling and framing for sequence of actions and fights are so smooth, you can easily follow what's actually going on in between everything.

All of Toriyama's story telling has been bad since he returned. His slice of life and comedy chops are still strong, mostly, but his character work and plotting is still as scatters hot as it was during Buu. Now maybe that's on the people following his outlines but the result is the same. I think better dragonball stories can be told even if we're going to be missing toriyama's creativity and comedic talents.

Dragon Ball (the manga) from the beginning to the marriage of Goku and the birth of Gohan is amazingly good, it would have been the perfect happy ending to stop there (goku is married, has a son, finally won the tournament, piccolo turning good). I don't dislike the 'Z' part but it is not as good.

DragonBall is not for me anymore and I think it's ok. My son is 9 and he watches the new series. He has also seen all of Z and GT. Makes me smile when he watches it.
As it should be. Those of us who grew up with the manga are middle aged at this point. Although DragonBall is works for all ages in a way, it has always been childish (which is core to its charm).

I felt like the pacing was very inconcitent. And it was especially weird that they decided to skip things like Frieza coming back and Broly. Two things that are canon and core the ongoing story. You can tell that the art isn't as good as Toriyama, but the writing is what has been taken me out of it. But I've only read up to the half-way point of the Moro arc.

I really enjoyed Super, but Daima doesn't interest me. I'm always ready for more though as there'll be stories I am interested in eventually.

Represent.

Last weeks episode of Daima had one of the best fight scenes in the entire franchise, this weeks should be even better.

Can't say I'm interested. I'm not sure I'm the audience for this show, and I haven't liked what I've seen of newer stuff. The art's a big step down in detail from Z, as is the music (the Japanese scores are usually passable). Characters have been worse too - too goofy. Last point started showing through at the end of Z and didn't change in a way I liked.
