in every industry, there are several types of companies: undying Brand Loyalty (Playstation), your Play nice with everyone (Microsoft), and your Avant-garde(Nintendo) who tries to be different and does its own thing.
(you also have companies like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft who have a formula that they stick to it no matter how much you may dislike it.)
Then you have companies like Epic who, unlike the others who stay in their lane and respective industry, try to leave their own industry to pick a fight with another company.
By Epic picking a fight with Apple, regardless if they win or lose, could give Apple the backdoor they need to fully move into the gaming industry. It May even sound like this:
Make no mistake, Sony, Microsoft, even Nintendo are watching Apple every move in this battle. But not stepping into it in some way may hurt them.
Playstation will lose exclusives, Xbox GamesPass will lose subscribers and Nintendo....could lose the mobile Hybrid market when Apple makes a Hardware to their Apple Arcade.
