Here’s the OG post from ResetEra…it’s from my sister thread there. That thread has input from actual devs etc in the industry. Insomniac, Microsoft, Digital Foundry, DICE, Moon Studios and more…
I still consider TLOU 2 to be a king in visuals and animations and back then, graphics king as a whole. In 2024, it’s still in the top 5 looking games of all time, IMO. Today it still tops everything else in many areas, like motion matching animation, eye rendering and certain materials. The attention to detail is unmatched by ANY game today.
In 2020 I predicted visuals could possibly hit levels seen in this episode of Love Death and Robots.
