Bought an ROG Ally + XG Mobile for about 1.8k and then I have purchased games and accessories for at least another 700-800 dollars. So roughly 2.5k I think so far this year. Gonna cut back considerably on spending for the rest of the year and maybe next one. I have everything I need in terms of hardware and accessories, so all I need is a select few games on the horizon. Time to enjoy the things that you have.

Anybody that spends over $5000 on gaming is a big deal that thought makes you nervous let’s be honest people with subscriptions, passes, dlc, new games, game sales probably spend $200-300 a year and that’s not bashing gaming.

I had a genuine epiphany in 2023. I enjoy games just as much even if I don't buy them the year they come out. I've also dusted off some of my older games and have replayed games I haven't touched in years. As a result, this year I've picked up more games this year than I usually do by August, and have spent more time playing than I usually do. It's been a good year.

For my PS5, I extended my PS Premium to 2031. Bought a load of dirt cheap games off the PSN Turkey store. And last week bought a Series X with 3 years of GPU.

Spent most of my money on physical copies of retro games ( for some of those prices) plus some of the physical releases (mainly Switch) of the last few years.

On the other hand spending was light on modern games. BG3 was the only full priced game I got so far this year.
Overall - probably hit $1000 - $1200 or so? Will spend a bit more on Starfield, Cyberpunk expansion, Spider-Man 2, Warhammer Rogue Trader and maybe some DLCs for Paradox Strategy Games, Age of Wonder 4 and Pathfinder WoTR.

So probably will wrap the year with $1500 or so overall.

Well, this isn't counting my major PC upgrade this year (everything but GPU basically), but that's not just used for gaming.

Edit: I recently got into collecting for Japanese Saturn games and my god it's so much cheaper vs US/EU copies. Highly recommend it to folks with an interest in that library and especially if you have some understanding of Japanese.

Around $600 and that's only for games. I'm a patient gamer so almost everything is older and heavily discounted. Much of this is due to 'discovering' cdkeys this year and the Steam Deck. Average price is around $12/game. On one hand, life is very good. On the other, I acknowledge my addiction.

Pretty low this year even though I bough a lot of Nintendo games which were all full price, so I’m pretty happy with this.

PSVR2 alone cost me 1000 dollars here in my country, and considering that I buy on average 2-3 games a month across the three main consoles, I easily exceeded 2000 dollars this year.
