I've been trying to play a game via Geforcenow for two hours...

I had no idea I was able to use Geforcenow on my Sony A95K TV. So I thought let's give this a chance. I was curious about the differences between that and local console gaming. I've yet to see one fucking game running, being able to play it.

Installed the app on my TV, logged into all the necessary accounts. I then had to set all kinds of stuff to public for Steam, all fine now.

I have my Xbox controller connected via BT to the TV. It works well in the GFN menus but as soon as I start Destiny 2, Marvel Rivals etc, I get all these menus and a cursor, at first I could move the cursor with the right stick, but when I get switched to Steam I can't do shit anymore. So long story short, you can't do a damn thing without a mouse, I'm guessing? It doesn't respond to the controller or TV remote, I have to force close the app to be able to get back to GFN.

Hold "Start" button to bring up overlay, find virtual keyboard/mouse to move the cursor with your thumbstick.

Yep! Got it working now.

I'm new to this whole streaming thing, but I assume there aren't any graphics settings or whatsoever? I use GeforeNow Free at the moment. I do notice a big audio delay in Destiny and just now it showed me all kinds of artifacts and performance went bonkers. I forgot my TV is via WiFi, I'll try wired tomorrow.

But why the audio delay?

No idea, never tried free tier I assume it is garbage.

Free tier is absolute garbage. Ultimate is God Tier. Wired only. Best on Fiber.

I see. Good to know. And no audio delay there? Because it was bad in Destiny 2 on free. And do you get any graphics settings or is that never the case with streaming?

I saw that there's a FF16 demo but I can't seem to start it. Can only buy it, but you can't buy a demo. It also doesn't get added to the library, even though I did do that on the Steam page on my phone.

You might be able to adjust it on your TV. Should be able to play around with delay. Or could be an issue with wireless and streaming audio.

I have Founders for $5 a month and so its Premium, I downgraded since I am travelling. It's good too since the only thing I am missing is 240 FPS and 10 Bit color precision. I don't get a 4080, but I get 2080's or 3060's. I have a 3070 Ti at home. Anyways, ingame settings can be changed in the game. There should be no audio delay, it means you have a latency issue on your end, so hence you need to do wired. Or the card on server side you're given is gimped.

If you do a weekly trial of Ultimate. You will probably fall in love. Literally no que either.

For the audio delay are you using arc return channel to a sound bar or anything like that? Can you test the audio directly out of the TV if you are using a sound bar?

Ignore this post...someone already mentioned it

Artifacting, audio/video delays etc, are all related to the end user's internet bandwidth, packet loss (due to the connectivity method here being WiFi instead of wired) and the distance to the server location from yours.

Check if your internet is shared with other devices (WiFi or wired) at your location and make it available only for your TV (or the display you are going to stream GFN on), connect via ethernet, and the nearest GFN server from your location.

The process is the same as services like Netflix or Amazon Prime. All you're doing is offloading the compute to the data centers and streaming that A/V data onto your display using your internet connection.

That could be it. I have a soundbar that connects via HDMI to my TV. Next time I'll make sure to connect wired.

Yeah I will make sure my TV is via ethernet next time, that should help with those issues. I have 750 Mbps download speed, so that can't be the issue. As for this trial, I'll definitely give that a shot. I didn't know there was a trial for Ultimate.

I'd love to check out Ready or not, for example.
Audio delay can sometimes be an arc thing. Are you using arc / soundbar for audio?

Yep. My HK Citation soundbar connects to my TVs HDMI ARC. No issues with consoles or TV apps like Netflix, Prime etc.

I know that my phone uses the WiFi, my tablet too, and my Xbox is via ethernet. So it's best to disable the WiFi for my phone and tablet when I check out GFN? And you can select a server yourself? Because I didn't see that option, maybe because it's free tier.

A few years ago I used Stadia via edge on my Xbox and I had very few issues.

Yeah, if you have a soundbar, sometimes latency can differ depending on the app or device so you may need to adjust it on your soundbar.

And it’s a good idea to run wired if you can as well.

I tried it for a month with my shield and found the service to be totally lacking. I really don't get why people big it up so much. Xbox Cloud isn't perfect but it's so much better and easier to use.

Like what.
Altering the source files of a game to cheat or to do things that one wants to do like implement user mods that are inappropriate or banned.

Can I do that game streaming on my Samsung TV?

I mean if we can take that away as a universal benefit of PC gaming, I'd love to know. It'll help me during the platform wars that are yet to come.

Pretty much all you need is a controller now and the App. So yes Samsung has the App and so does LG.
