Mojang explains that Covid-19 has ruined the game by preventing people from going out and finding each other. The game will close its servers on June 30th.
To finish off in style, they have just eliminated all microtransactions, drastically reduced the price of rubies and reduced the time required to manufacture items.
If you bought things in Minecrafft Earth, Mojang will give you a copy of Minecraft and your rubies will be converted into Minecoins.
