Looks like a proper re-release to Obsidian Entertainment's Neverwinter Nights 2 might be in development as Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition page has appeared on SteamDB. The page is frequently updated, has an EULA which links the developer to Aspyr (it may be Beamdog as they're one of Aspyr's subsidiaries). Files on one of the depots implies that Enhanced Edition will feature the complete edition with main game, Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir and Mysteries of Westgate expansions

Edit: Beamdog's community manager confirmed on Steam forums Beamdog is not involved with NWN2EE

I hope they fix all the issues. I stopped playing due to some game-breaking bugs back then.

You can buy it on GoG and it works just fine. I also have the delisted complete edition on steam and played it last year for a bit. I can't imagine what this is wouldn't amount much more than "official" mods to modernize. Plus even if the source code is long gone one look at projects like open morrowind or KeeperFX show it isn't impossible to port old code even without the source available.

If I remember correctly, it was Icewind Dale II that had missing source code
