People were crashing a lot in the crater area, saw some youtubers crash several times in a row trying to be in that area for too long, and needing to take a specific route when trying to go down in the underground area to avoid crashing.

I know PC version had serious issues and PS4 version had some performance issues but on my PS5 it was pretty smooth, this the first time I’m hearing about crashes.

As a fun fact, the pc version got patched after a bomb review that I started in the steam forums. I did it because they released the game in the Microsoft Store and it was a better version with quite a few improvements.

In any case it's good to see that they are still patching the game. Its a very good game and worth playing

Yup but I do like to see Yoko Taro start making some new game that not some god damn mobile gatcha game.

Come on Taro either make new IP or give me Drakengard 4.....I would even take Drakengard 3 1.22 version like we got with Nier Replicant.

Slightly off topic but very pertinent to seeing Nier get a patch, 6 years after its release but .....My biggest wish for this generation was to finally get full Backwards Compatibility to where, and Sony and MS probably needed to incentivize these greedy publishers, every game from last gen was updated for the current gen systems ...ie patch games for 4k/60 if possible. It seemed attainable early on with Microsoft touting the SX' emulation capabilities and FPS boost.

Well, this has totally failed to happen and even Microsoft ditched their BC program. Until consoles can find a way to get good backwards compatibility, consoles will be woefully inferior to PC. If every dev took just a tiny amount of resources they could easily patch games, the problem is they dont think they'll make "enough profit" from potential sales due to renewed interest in "old games".

I can understand this to a degree which is why i said Sony and MS needed to incentivise them with some kind of benefits. What's inexcusable is companies like Rockstar not patching RDR2 or Microsoft (after all the talk about BC) not patching Xbox One exclusives.

This is an important topic as it relates to value of buying consoles, value of subscription services that have a bunch of 720p/30 fps games on them (that nobody will want to play), and game preservation. If MS and Sony themselves cant see the value in updating their libraries than this will never be remedied.

Also, console gamers by and large dont seem to mind which is why consoles are treated like shit in the first place.

I've had maybe 6-7 crashes in total, quite a lot but my standards. At least there were no corrupted saves. Glad it's being fixed, especially considering how many broken and never repaired games are out there.

I did a full playthrough a month ago on PS5 and the game was crashing quite a lot indeed (maybe a dozen times over the game's duration)

skit_data skit_data Thanks for sending those crash reports, dude! They fixed the game!
Hahah, yeah this is either a crazy coincidence or all my reports made an actual difference. I must've sent at least 9-10 crash reports a day in the weekend. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the game recieved an update the day after I posted here asking for help. Happy to see it sorted!

It would be really cool if Square let him do FF17, tbh.
Personally it would limit his creativity because these days some obnoxious fans gonna complain “it’s not my Final Fantasy” BS.

I rather his work on either new IP or new Nier/Drakengard entry so he will free to do whatever he wants.
