well, i would agree if you said "they ll never release a game with bad art direction" but playing a game at 720p on a 75" TV looks bad as hell imo, that y i emulate most of my Nintendo.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I don't mind average graphics if the game plays fine but, the thing is, most games on the Switch look blurry and/or run at less than the native res, which really hurts the experience imo.

Switch 2 should have come out quite a few years ago.

Right, because playing games at 30fps is better than 60fps. Oh wait. Try botw in 4k at 60fps and then switch back (see what I did there....) to 1080p flickery/30fps and your eyes will not be happy.
They do the best they can with the hardware they have, but it's not all sunshine and roses.

I really liked the art style for Mario & Luigi Brothership. Nintendo is good a making games with good art style, but I also have wondered how a Metroid game would look like with top notch graphics.

Or how a Fire Emblem will also look with high-detailed cell shade graphics (like Guilty Gear Strive)

They do have a balance, and people seem to like what they do.

Exactly, those "miraculous ports" to me always look bad because they're not designed with Switch limitations in mind, their textures and many background stuff are tailored for more powerful console, thus running way less efficient on the Switch. Take any first party graphic showcase and they look better than those ports from PS4/PS5 and it's not even a joke

What is the point of downsampled and bad IQ images?

Graphics on the Switch are very limited. Sometimes, really bad.
The thing that saves most of first party Nintendo games is the art style.
But if the hardware was a bit more powerful, the art style would benefit a lot.
Just look at emulated Switch games, running on PC. They look amazing at high resolution and high frame rates.

You know, that's the sole reason why I didn't want to get back to TOTK, but that's the same issue with all consoles, you'll have to pick bad IQ or 30 fps, or in some current gen only games, a very bad 60 fps with bad IQ or even just a 30 fps mode, you can't win unless you get a PC with at least a 6700 XT since at least you'd skip CPU bottleneck from consoles.

BTW after playing Xenoblade 3 for several hours already I think I should get back to TOTK while my eyes are used to the frame rate, I just don't like how it looks, specially panning the camera.
