Over 1 Million People Have Now Played Batman: Arkham Shadow

Over 1 million players have now unlocked the first achievement of the Quest 3 & 3S exclusive Batman: Arkham Shadow.

French YouTuber QuestWithMatt has been tracking how many people have unlocked the achievement, which typically happens within the first 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay, for months now. Before Christmas that figure stood at less than 400,000, and as of today it has crossed 1 million.

That seems low considering it was bundled - are achievements automatically on?

Unclear how much growth is to be expected in VR. I like it a lot but there are so many barriers for people to play (VR legs, being tired, nuisance of wearing a headset, etc). I'm just glad Zuck was willing to burn billions making it happen, even though I doubt it will ever be as successful as some people hope.

But how many people didn't play it, that's the untapped potential for it! Still have another ~8 billion to go!

If this wasn't a bundled game it'd be a solid number, but as a bundled game this seems bad.

What was the player count for Asgard's Wrath 2 I wonder, that's what was bundled my with Quest 3. I had to pay for this game. Would be curious if AW2 also had 1 million or not.

Too bad VR makes me seasick.

For 600 dollars you too can have daily bouts of nausea trying to play something that won't really be ready for a decade.

The game is pretty good. It just goes to show you when they really want to sell you something, they can take the woke out and turn the quality up really easily. They just won't do it unless they have no other choice. Think of the last Arkham game we got on console, SSKTJL, but when they want to sell you something suddenly the magic is back.

That's higher than Xbox Series numbers.
But for a bundled game it isn't stellar, suggests that nearly all the sales were bundled and not many actually bought it. I guess we can deduce that roughly 400000 people got a 3 or 3s for Christmas though.

I was surprised how well this was handled in this game, though. I don't get sick at all playing it, compared to other games.

I took the last two weeks off work and went ham on VR. Got PSVR2 working with my PC for Half Life and Doom.
Traded in the OG PS5 and got enough money to get a Quest 3s, which I've been playing Batman and Lee Miles Bodycombat.
Then moved PSVR2 to my PS5 for Behemoth. etc.

Those new to Quest, don’t sleep on the app “Bigscreen”. It’s just a good time. This weekend was thevWWE Royal Rumble, so there was a ton of screens for that. I imagine the Super Bowl this next weekend will be a great time in the headset as well.

Shhhh. There is no sharing of copyrighted content on Bigscreen, why would you say such a ridiculous thing.

hmmm, I gotta look into that. I've been liking the youtube app on Quest. Wish all the usual streaming apps were on there. I watched the Xbox developer direct while sitting at my dining room table with the headset on, eating pizza rolls. ha

I cooked dinner for the family on Saturday with my headset on, using the mixed reality and room scale. It just fucking works. I love the headset, and always rediscovering my love for it, when taking a long hiatus from it.

Yea, I mainly just grabbed it for exclusives I can't play on PC or PS5 with my PSVR2. But it is nice now easily it is to just put it on and get right into something.
I didn't even know about the hand tracking or pretty much any mixed reality stuff. I knew it was color and there's a game with zombies that come through your windows. That's about it.
I plan to throw it on during my lunch breaks to workout with that body combat.

Eh? VR is way more niche than consoles. Selling over a million copies for an install base probably in the 10 million range is very solid.

Wouldn’t that be roughly 600000, if it went from 400k to 1 million?

Those are splendid figures for a VR headset.

I've never tried VR but am interested in giving it a go. What should I get, quest 3 or PSVR2? I'm leaning towards PSVR2 right now because of GT7, Resident evil 4, village and the upcoming hitman woa.

Here’s my list of must haves for every Quest 3 owner:

Batman
Walking Dead
Bonelab
Resident Evil 4
Walkabout Mini golf
Asgards Wrath 2
Red Matter 2
Powerwash Simulator
Real VR Fishing
Eleven Table Tennis
Best Saber

Obviously there’s a ton more worth owning, but I honestly think every single person needs to own those games.

And also, if you have a PC to connect to, the Quest Games Optimizer is a must purchase/install. The QGO with the Quest 3 lenses is fucking incredible.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

Sony has basically drop the PSVR2, so only buy it if you’re only accepting what has been released.

Most VR content is third party, and PSVR2 gets plenty of third party support. Very little Sony support itself, but they aren't missing anything other than the rare exclusive on other platforms

There's still 3rd party support though. It's actually hitman that's got me interested to begin with. I love that game and the idea of being in those maps is mindblowing! I have to try it! It's coming at the end of march.
