Silent Hill: The Short Message have surpassed three million downloads, Konami announced.

The new Silent Hill experience launched for PlayStation 5 via PlayStation Store as a free download on January 31. It surpassed one million downloads on February 5, and two million downloads on February 12.

Here is an overview of the game, via Konami:

Following messages from her friend Maya, Anita finds herself at a crumbling apartment block, infamous for rumors of suicides.
Drawn inside, Anita soon finds her sense of reality shattered as she encounters bizarre, otherworldly spaces and twisted monsters.
Maya’s message was clear—“can’t leave til you find it”—but what is it that Anita is really looking for?

An all-new, modern Silent Hill experience, powered by the latest in game technology, now available free to play exclusively on PlayStation 5.

I finished it, but it was nothing special. I don’t know if I would get anything from replaying it. It was free, so there isn’t much to complain about. It feels like Silent Hill meets 13 Reasons Why and that’s not what I want from a modern Silent Hill.

It was free and yet I want a refund...

What a shame. Fails at walking simulator, fails at horror game, fails at writting / storytelling (my god this is abysmal...)... Gave up this trash after 1h

Worse than Ascension, Homecoming and that godawful Revelation movie?

Haven't played it yet, but if it's even worse than these.... damn...
I have avoided all these because i don't want my Silent Hill memories to be tainted.

I only played the Team Silent games, Shattered Memories and P.T. Oh, and the SH2 Remake.

Thus, i will avoid this also. It does look really bad.

In fact, this is extremely little for a game that is simply free and anyone can download it + a game that is tied to a major brand. Of course, the analogy with mobile games is not completely correct here, but usually free games (free to play) make such indicators in a few days or a week. Well, as an example - Infinity Nikki , which was released recently, actually made 20,000,000 downloads in the first week, also a free game (Although it is clear that the comparison is far from the best). The number of downloads of 3,000,000 in fact for 1 year of lying in a free state in the store, shows that people's interest in this product was minimal.

Is that something they should be pleased about? I’m sure 3mil people have tried the vomit flavoured jelly beans, but I’m also pretty sure most aren’t going back to buy more. This adds nothing to the franchise, and only causes brand damage.
