I read the series and it became one of my favorites along with the Metro series and looks like season 2 is sticking to the books. :messenger_smiling_hearts:

Someone spoil me... Did the people who left before Rebecca die from poisonous air or what?

j/k It's based on the book series WOOL so you can just read a synopsis, unless the show (which I've not read but did read the books) is making some BIG deviations.

but to save you some time, BIG BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD!!! and another JUST IN CASE!!! so the premise is nanites were released to kill most humans expect for the ones moved into 50(IIRC) silos around...and you will dig this...ATLANTA. Then the central silo monitors each one and destroys any that display 'wrongthink'. The humans let out of each silo are killed by the nanites because their suits are deliberately defective

I can't remember the ending of season 1. I remember thinking it was pretty good. But it seems like a long time since the show was released.

It's not on my top tier show list, but I am going to watch season 2. I hope Rebecca Ferguson did better with her accent this season though, she did an awful job in season 1 with it and I like her as an actress. But she let it slip every 5 words. It was really distracting.

audience response must be very good, we had some news that apple tv was gonna start minding the budget and they're already committing to 2 seasons of an expensive show
It really shouldn't be that expensive. Sure, they need a big boiler room (if they do that plotline) and some sort of sense of a big central stairwell but it practically screams for a couple of rooms and that's about it.

Not seen the show though, jusr read the books, so maybe they are going in a different direction or are really packing in the extras to make it feel very crowded.

Starting watching this this weekend, I'm enjoying it even though they could probly half the episode time and get the same amount of story in. I'm only up to ep 5 and they ever so slowly spoon feed some world building. It took a throw away line during the power outtage episode before I got a number as to how many might be living in the Silo.
I got 3 months to catch up with my free Apple TV+.
Also watching 'SEE', Want to finish that as well.

I love Rebecca Ferguson, but the first season was a slog and I don't really know what kind of show they were going for. Might watch the second season on a very lazy and boring day.

This isbsad to hear. The books were very well paced with frequent cliffhanger moments and surprise reveals. This should have been an easy adaptation into 10 eps of thrilling tv.

Big fan of the first season

Based on how little has happened in season 2 so far (after 5 episodes / 4 hours), it feels like they are trying to stretch the books out into 10 seasons...

Hopefully the remaining 5 episodes are better!

I think it was just announced that there will be (at least) 2 more seasons.

I think I will look impressions from imdb, and if they pick up I will finish the season, but for now pause it is. Its not just slow, but what happens is not interesting really.

Loved season 1. Apart from the main character being where she was at the end of it. I can't remember any other characters or their motivations and I don't want to have to rewatch it.

Watch episode 1 season 2.

Can't remember last time I've seen such a dip in quality.
The seasons going to be barren like this episode, I just know it .

Apple TV is free this weekend if anyone wants to binge this (already started in Australia. Can’t confirm other locations).
Season 1 for me has been more enjoyable as season 2 is moving slower.

Looks like they had story for one season but decided to stretch it to two (or more) seasons.

S2 is slow as fuck, really nothing much happened in fucking 8 hours outside of stuff from first episode

Season 2 is terrible for many reasons.

I’d rather watch the boring Ferguson / Zhan parts than the rest of it though. Horrible acting and writing left and right.

All the non-Americans are terrible with their accents too it drives me nuts.

Well there are 3 books, but not sure if each book has enough story for a season.

Watching it just because, at this point. S1 was great and this season is uber-drag. I was disappointed when I heard they renewed it for a couple more seasons because I'll suspect it's just gonna continue being stretched out to get maximum eyeballs, come on Apple.

The show is an Adaptation of a Sci Fi Book Trilogy. They should have adapted the first part of Book 2 into Season Two. This season has been slow. But this show I could see lasting at least 3 to 4 seasons to cover everything. But I do agree this season has been disappointing in comparison to the first season

Just watched episode 8 and this season is slow. My wife described it as the women yelling at men season haha. So far, the only parts that really interested me is the stuff with the IT shadow and the map he found of the silo.

I love the concept of the show but it’s pretty slow this season.

3 episodes into season 2 and i gave up.

Not like the 1st season was some kind of masterpiece, but this one is complete and utter shit.

I'm still watching but am very dissapointed. I really liked the first season because of all the mystery stuff and not because of all the politics and intrigues in the silo. Sadly they removed almost all of the mystery and increased the amount of the other boring stuff. And it is slooooow.

Season 2 is going far too slowly. I got bored and looked up the synopsis on the wikipedia page for the book, S2 is one and a half sentences so far.

Also, the scenes, especially in the other silo, are so dark I can hardly see what's happening. I just see the reflection of some fat idiot sat on his sofa.

I've discovered this show only a month ago, so no big gap between seasons for me.

3 episodes into S2 I cannot follow the "season 2 is booring" comments.

As for the pace - it is like that from episode 1 season 1.
Atmosphere, visuals, charismatic characters is the crux of i.

Easily one of the best series in a long time.
I second that.

That's because you're binging the show mate?? Watching this weekly does get frustrating at times, allthough obviously it's not "boring" overall. And yes, it's worse than S1 in that regard since there's been a big change in how the narrative is told now and this brings new challenges to the writers, which they don't seem to be completely up for.

I've read some theories about S2 suffering from production issues for example because of Rebecca Ferguson's schedule conflicting, which helps putting things into perspective. Still doesn't excuse S2 being the way it is, but it helps understand maybe that it's not only the show writers failing at adapting this in an fun way, but also other quirks that hopefully get sorted out by S3.

Still a great show and a great season obvl.

Then geez, showrunners, wait to do the production until the schedule is clear. We will wait longer for a good season then a B- or C-tier season (unless they had other compelling characters to prop up, apparently they did not)

I think it's a decent show, but I've seen a lot of people say it's one of the best shows on TV and I think that's too strong a praise. Rebecca Ferguson has had nothing to do this season. I mean seriously, she arrived in the other silo in episode 1 and since then she's just been like fixing shit. Credit to her though, this may be one of her most physically demanding roles as an actress, so she's making the best of it. You actually feel like she's straining to do the tasks she's doing. But the problem is from a show standpoint, everything she's doing is boring. So good acting, but bad for drama.

And I don't really care a ton about the home silo that much because I don't really like any of the characters all that much. There really is no one to root for. I guess the people of mechanical, but even then no one really stands out as a noteworthy character.

This show won't kick into gear into Juliette makes it back to the silo. Until then it all just feels like filler tbh.

As an experiment I rewatched the first two episodes of Season 1 and wow, they are incredibly better than anything in Season 2 (so far)

I didn't like episode 9 much, i thought these teen's with a baby and they had no food but survived and appeared out of nowhere was bad writing personally and far fetched. i was expecting a better story.

That entire silo is done much more simple and straightforward in the book. She just shows up, Solo thinks he's the only one in the silo, there's a huge farm with plenty of food kind of running itself, the kids are there but hiding. They only attack the pump to stop it from making the baby to cry.
