Ive wondered this too. There is almost no one else in this space. you would think someone would have also jumped into it. Maybe someone will now that it is singleplatformthe fact that there is no alternate to main line elder scroll games on any system baffles me , this is gonna be a long wait
This really shouldn't surprise anyone. Microsoft/Xbox is undergoing significant overhaul.
Thank you. Some of us actually work in these related fields for a living. But nooooo, console warriors know best, right?
Where have I ever claimed to be an industry insider? Also, you don't need to finish the production of one title in order to determine the release window of another. Competent studios can walk and chew gum at the same time. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. They're finishing Starfield. They won't start TESVI until Starfield ships.
For someone who comes here LARPing about being an industry insider, you don't know what you're talking about.
Pull you pants back up on the way out dada. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. They're finishing Starfield. They won't start TESVI until Starfield ships.

This is how Bethesda has always worked. They didn't start working on Starfield until after Fallout 4 shipped. Also, you don't need to finish the production of one title in order to determine the release window of another. Competent studios can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Don't worry guys, before TES VI will be out, Todd will make sure you get couple more Skyrim editions.
Hopefully they consider using anything but the Creation Engine for its production.
Yes, which is why I said what I said. To think calling it the 2nd edition is going to make it drastically better. hahahahaIt'll be using Creation Engine 2 like Starfield is.
Skyrim 76 on deck.
Right here:

I'm NOT an insider, don't work in the gaming industry. Work in finance and acquisitions aren't unique to gaming;
With majority of their team on Starfield, they probably don't have the staff to move straight into mass production. This is kinda odd considering the game was announced, albeit very early, in 2018 and that the universe, lore, locations and whatnot already exist.
Yes, which is why I said what I said. To think calling it the 2nd edition is going to make it drastically better. hahahaha
I think scaling up is a big problem for these companies, hence why we see all these buy-outs.Microsoft should have created multiple teams at Bethesda. 1 for starfield. 1 for elder scrolls. 1 for fallout. Have them all on a 3 year cycle.
Waiting 18 years for the sequel to the biggest rpg of all time is insane.
By your logic Unreal 5 is not drastically better than 4, which we all know is bullshit.Yes, which is why I said what I said. To think calling it the 2nd edition is going to make it drastically better. hahahaha
No way we are seeing it launch that soon. Gonna have there hands full with Starfield until at least the end of this year.. My guess would be fall 2026 minimum. If Starfield is a big success the we'll see expansions/ dlc for that as well remember.Sounds just right. BGS usually start pre-production around 2 years before switching to full development.
Now that the new engine is here, I guess we might see TES6 in 2024-2025

Yikes man. This looks wild when you put it that way. Hopefully after Starfield, it doesn’t take them another 7 years to develop their next game (Elder Scrolls). They definitely should split into different teams like Obsidian had an Avowed team, Grounded team, and The Outer Worlds 2 team. Even Arkane has multiple teams/studios for different projects.Microsoft should have created multiple teams at Bethesda. 1 for starfield. 1 for elder scrolls. 1 for fallout. You seem to take the most mundane topics very personally. None of these discussions are high-stakes, so relax.
Level Designer in Arkane
UE5 is an improvement from a great game engine called UE4. The Creation Engine 2 is an improvement from a buggy game engine called Creation Engine. That would be my logic.By your logic Unreal 5 is not drastically better than 4, which we all know is bullshit.
Good news: It's comingthe fact that there is no alternate to main line elder scroll games on any system baffles me , this is gonna be a long wait
Who are these competent studios?
And? What's your point here. your expecting the to make Starfield and ESVI AND maybe Fallout at the same time? These game are huge, not some 5 hour expansion pack or a linear 8 hour story game. But seriously, most large studios regardless of platform are able to work on multiple titles simultaneously.
Companies like insomniac have hard distinctions of teams and are structured to be one brand but multiple teams, multiple AAA projects. Insomniac has been explicitly a multi team multi AAA project studio for a while that’s geographic seperated too similar to how bioware had a bioware Austin and bioware whatever all ultimately run by the same honcho under same brand. Studios that essentially have one big team to do a single AAA game and who get some people start a bit of work on next project (because planners don’t do coding) hardly ever give release windows for the next game. It’s one team overlapping projects to be efficient. It’s not incompetence, its just different numbers of teams flying under the same banner. Spider-Man and Ratchet have different game directors and whatever undernaearh working on the projects seperately whereas Todd Howard is game director for all AAA games under the BHS banner and it’s the same people working on every AAA game.Too easy.

To answer a question someone asked me.And? What's your point here.
I don't know much about the studio in question, but the ones I've worked for in the past usually handle development in phases and the pre-production phase was a different subset of creative individuals in the studio. Concept artists, designers and writers vs modelers, developers and testers for the later stages of production. Even one team can work on two products if Starfield is as far along as has been previously claimed. With majority of their team on Starfield, they probably don't have the staff to move straight into mass production.
it's possible but GTA 6 is definitel in development trouble.Wonder if gta6 will drop before this
We'll find out this summer, They seemed confident enough last year to announce a date even after the pandemic hit. I think it was due last year personally, and they delayed internally due to COVID. This is their extra year IMO, we'll see.I'm still in the #team2027 for new TES. Starfield comes in early 2023 (I'd be surprised if there's no delay), then some DLC for Starfield.
TES will only come sooner if Starfield is a flop
