The tanker involved in the incident is believed to the US-flagged Stena Immaculate, based on MarineTraffic data.

On the tracking site, we can see the Immaculate at anchor and at 9:48 we can see the Solong - a Portuguese-flagged container - appear to be colliding with the tanker.

The Stena Immaculate had travelled from the Greek port of Agioi Theodoroi, and was anchored outside Hull.

The Solong, meanwhile, had been sailing from the Scottish port of Grangemouth to Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.

Trump 🤦🤦🤦🤦

Now let the very cynical Trump fix and clean up the sea. Let him be fined internationally for the damage caused to the marine ecosystem.

Trump does so much nonsense and still thinks he's smart.
To be fair, the American ship was anchored. You might think most of the fault would lie with the Portuguese ship that was actually moving.

Either way, yet another great reason to move towards green energy.

Jesus Christ.. Can we please stop planes from almost colliding and also stop apparently ships from almost colliding?

There is more ocean than land in this world, and you would think they could have “one way” lanes for ships each way they travel.

Wouldn't surprise me if this "accident" was intentional by the US and Trump's administration is shitting out a cover story to facilitate the construction of a submersible, mobile fortress disguised as a decontamination plant housing some sort of cutting edge AI that censor's anime.
THE US SHIP WAS ANCHORED.....SO HOW WOULD THE US MAKE AN ANCHORED SHIP RUN INTO ANOTHER VESSEL?

In before lock......

Like the plane crash, because of his stupidity... He fired qualified people and the result was the plane crash that happened recently.

Trump is incompetent.
Are you talking about the Helicopter. That was warned by the control tower but did not hear it because they had their radio button depressed, with a pilot that was flying far above the training flight ceiling wearing NVGs limiting her field of view. That was TRUMPS fault. This is dumb. You cannot be this blinded by bias.

I can't tell if these are genuine takes.

God help us if they are.

That one too, I'm referring to the one from about 3 weeks ago... and I found out that another plane crashed.

Pure planes that crash recently.

This is a combination of the two areas furthest away from moving to clean energy.

Aviation and shipping just can't economically, or even practically be powered by current batteries.

If we reduced our dependency on Oil we wouldn't need so many tankers dragging it around the world and then crashing, bursting into flames and spilling the contents into the sea causing yet another environmental disaster though, so there's that, I suppose.

Rumor says the cargo vessel transported the new and only 2025 batch of PS5 disc drives.

DANG IT MAN, I have been waiting on a new batch of disc drives to play my Concord physical edition - and now THIS?! Hopefully when I finally get a disc drive, no more bad news will happen and I can finally enjoy Concord - been avoiding any news / spoilers on it so it’s fresh!!

It's any big vehicle, not just tankers. The very device you typed your comment from will have been shipped in one.

This is like if someone put a driverless car on autopilot and fell asleep as it rerouted through a busy car park. Except the driverless car is full of cyanide and the car park is full of jet fuel.

Edit: ehh, reading further it looks unclear if everyone involved is safe. Don't want to make jokes quite yet about the boats themselves.

Hope everyone involved was rescued and is safe.

There has been a pretty effective alternative to dirty fuels in shipping for centuries. Slow, but very clean.
