RULES: Before we begin, I'd like to take a minute to make some sort of NeoGAF ground rules. This subject leans political by default since politicians injected themselves into the subject. And since this is also a post about the waste of the USAID, it's going to touch the line of politics. To make sure this thread stays alive and open so we can expose this subject manner, let's keep it civil. That means no strong stances on either side of the coin such as "If you're support GG, you hate women and are a Nazi!" or on the other side "If you were/are anti-GG, you're a commie!" stuff. Just keep it civil, please.

UPDATE: https://nichegamer.com/fact-check-s...receive-hundreds-of-thousands-from-taxpayers/

I still can't find anything about FF in the above article. Anyone else know and if this is a nothing, I'll get mods to close this.

Using https://www.usaspending.gov/search, gamers have found that the US government had funded some of Feminist Frequency using USAID. The below mentions Sweet Baby Inc but using CA state's business look up I also confirmed Sweet Baby, Inc. is not the same company. The company listed in LA is a different business and has no ties to the Canadian business.

That already died. New X link, excluding that Sweet Baby Inc crap report.

What's your thoughts on this? Are there any other interesting gaming journalists/gaming websites that people have found that have pushed anti-gamer rhetoric that were funded by USAID or other government spending programs?

And the biggest question is WHY? When gamergate blew up, it was wild to see once again gaming in the spotlight on news and in courtrooms again.

Also, with funding being cut for so many programs that didn't benefit interested parties, do you think gaming is going to return to the pre-politically correct days again? I feel we're already seeing it from Capcom with Monster Hunter and SF6.

What we are learning is that this entire "woke"/"DEI" operation across society, and in gaming, is in large part a creation of the federal government. As to the motivation, well, that's a much longer and deeper discussion. I don't want to necessarily talk deeper about this because of the ban on politics but this is the obvious implication of what is coming out lately.

If you ask me the root of the goal is population control.

there’s a lot of misinformation going on social media, with a ton of fake hysteria over USAID.

And now misinformation is being brought here in the form of threads.

This is not surprising. USAID has a history of being abused by every government to push their red or blue agenda. And so called non-profits have exploited it. Not just locally in the US, but across the globe. A reset was probably a necessary evil.
Thats explain how those mf still get funded even fail after fail.
Good thing we have President Trump and Doge to cut all this bullshit out. Wasting government money . Clean up the poison

There’s literally an embedded tweet in the OP debunking the thread headline.

Perhaps try to read? Confirmation bias seems to open the door to extreme gullibility.

Well, FF isn't debunked that I can see. The article doesn't give any proof of it, but I didn't included Sweet Baby, Inc because that one was easy to debunk.

Yes, this instance is untrue, but what they've funded is very stupid and sadly very true.

Public powers using trojan horses to enter spaces where they don't belong is textbook population control.

How anyone can be surprised at this point. The presence of useful idiots defending this for free isn't surprising either.

Aren’t the useful idiots the ones who swallow everything they read on X without any verification, and then proceed to propagate it without question?

Reading your update it appears to not be true?

OP has more than enough info by now to know it’s fake

What I said still stands regardless of the tweet. USAid is still wasting money and there is a long list

I always suspected. No way people are this crazy. Had to be funded propaganda.

Edit: Still think it true they are funded by some malevolent entity even if not specifically USAID imho, because as I say, nobody is really that crazy, they are on the grift.

Did you read the article? They didn't provide anything for FF. Can you provide some?

It’s right in the article. https://datarepublican.com/nonprofit/?filter=463408143

Even an estimate from a republican source only lists $6 from indirect money and zero from any grant.
Sorry, bare with my GAF today. I have a baby who just lost pacifier privileges and my brain is very slow today.

What I was asking is there a source they didn't get any funding at all. Even if its $6, it's $6. I'd be upset if even $1 went to these dirt bag orgs.

The past week has been wild. There actually really has been a government fund effort to fuck with video games.

Eh, you created the thread. Burden of proof is on you.
Where’s your source that they got lots of money from USAid?

It just lists $6 as indirect funding (whatever that means). Considering it is a mere $6, and the entire thing is an estimate I’d consider it likely the actual number is 0. No grants appear to have come from USAid.
