It just looks like a generic action adventure, like a Forspoken (already a B tier game) bootleg, do you really need to link it to anything else whatsoever to justify it flopping?
Who even knows what the story's about & how it's apparently been DEIfied or whatever, going by your own post, as it's about preoders, folks ignore it before knowing that.
Oh no, if only SBI wasn't involved it would have a DOA Xtreme protagonist & magically everything else about the game would be 10x better so people would buy it then
It's totally the first time a Japanese publisher establishes a western studio thinking they can magically make bank only to have it backfire, it never happened before SBI guyz!
The actress is mixed race, British Indian, maybe a shot where she's magically enhanced herself to a radiating beauty isn't the best comparison with a gruff and dirty role, Idk...

Looking at that first picture in the OP, I had no idea that was Anya Chalotra - who, for the avoidance of doubt - is hot as fucking hell in Witcher season one, once she's transformed into Yennefer the sorceress (didn't watch past season one as... well it was the Witcher Tv series).

I waited on Atlas Fallen until it hit GP. Looks AA but fun. Still have to play that. This looks similar. Easy playthrough on GP or for like $15-20.

Unlike Atlas Fallen, Unknown 9 Awakening doesn't even deserve a time of the day for any gamer's interest. Anything a woke consultant group touches should be boycotted and left to be wrought in the garbage dump where it belongs. The faster we do this, the faster Sweet Baby Inc., Black Girl Gamers, and every single DEI consultant group out there goes out of business.

Fans of the Unknown 9 book series. It remains to be seen if this audience even plays games and will care about this side story.
I guess we will find out. The oddest thing here is attaching a specific blame to it. There was no known universe where this game should be projected to be a smash hit with a title like that and such mediocre marketing for a book series that hasn’t even been marketed that much outside of gaming.

Absolutely! It's ridiculous Namco would go out of their way to create a would-be franchise out of this DOA POS game with the hand of a woke consultant group that is Sweet Baby Inc. Not even the original Mass Effect ever had such backing (before it was released to universal acclaim) and that game only had a tie-in novel and that was it.

I don't think it looks like Forspoken at all... The gameplay and the story are quite different. Forspoken gameplay is fast
paced, focused almost entirely on spells and mobility:
While Unknow 9 has a slower gameplay, focused on stealth combined with melee combat:
I know that is fun to shit on Forspoken, which has a bad story and some awful dialogues, but the combat can be quite fun and well made... If the player understands it... Which unfortunately most players didn't even tried to...

My point is saying it wouldn’t matter if they were associated with SBI or not. You guys are laser focused on one detail in a list of details as to why this game has potential to fail, and using that detail as the primary reason.
Would anyone here seriously care about this game if they weren’t associated with SBI? Would people here seriously champion it if they weren’t? The answer heavily leads to no. It was destined to always fall under the sea.
The only question here is whether or not this will be a decent hidden gem at 4.99 a few months from now.

I wasn't aware this was based off books, or that the books existed. I'm going to venture a guess that the audience is tiny and won't be playing the game.
The SBI association is poison, so this will be another punching bag like Dustborn. DOA.

Maybe it's not as fast but it still shows some magical shit in there, she has powers and stuff for sure. But seems more like an AC protagonist in mobility otherwise rather than a magical parkour gal. Anyway I didn't say it's an 1:1 clone and calling it a bootleg of it does imply it seems worse

Without SBI and Kim Blackmail's wretched fingers on it, Unknown 9: Awakening could have potential and likely would have been better received considering they don't have a DEI snake hovering on their shoulder ordering them to do this and do that for a higher ESG score.
