Recently we saw Xbox working with Platinum Games and KT to create Ninja Gaiden 4. Say what you want about Xbox, but this is a good thing, well done Spencer or whoever was involved.

Now the question is, why not more of these deals? Bring back Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon and JSR and Panzer Dragoon! What’s the hold up?

It really makes you wonder how far their head is up their arse if they cant see how much goodwill these deals would be for fans, even relapsed fans like me who didnt get a series S/X because, tbh, whats there to play?

Come the fuck on already Xbox, show some initiative for once. You spent billions on buying games that would come out anyway. CoD didn't need your support. You fucking killed Halo and CoD is likely next lol. What we need are 360 style games, hard and fast, use daddy’s money for something good, rather than trying to imitate Playstation. What the fuck, look at Hellblade 2, see what trying to copy Sony brought you, fucking laughed out of the room.

Bullshit. The original game failed to attract the Japanese audience was supposed to. Why would MS be eager to go back to it instead of trying something else?

Will the money invested in developing large RPGs like Blue Dragon create a ROI? That's the question.

What did Hellblade copy exactly? No PS game has this shallow gameplay, honestly i had more fun playing one on those interactive dramas then HB.

MS on the 360 and at the start of the Xbox One gens, with all the money they have, they could have not gived up on Sakaguchi after the Blue Dragon flop, they could have bought Tecmo, they could have allowed Bungie to do another IP for them, they could have bought Insomniac, they could have not made Kinect obligatory...

Dev time takes longer now also the fact Xbox was on consideration for termination/ Phil floated the idea of going full mobile( dev cost/dominant market).

That 70 billion purchase is multiple things in one: access to mobile/console/pc IPs including adding value to gp, expansion into competition, software integration, future growth & streams of revenue and cloud services ( nvidia streaming w gp ect..).

This is a play for the industry.
Lost odyssey or blue dragon are not profitable IPs however if gp is at a point where Ms can they will. Panzer is Sega and they are reviving older IPs. We also have a rumor a few yrs ago about a mystery backer that invested in Sega. Via r/gaming leaks & rumors

Ninja Gaiden was an exception. They increased their first party so they can put their own games in GamePass cause most publishers wouldn't do it.
And now they won't have to pay 2nd/3rd parties anymore for GP content. I expect next to nothing outside their first party offerings. Some indies sure.

I don't know. Lost Odyssey's target audience is PlayStation and Switch gamers. That's also now Microsoft's focus audience as well.
