Bearing in mind…

- Switch 1 was announced in October 2016 with a brief travel trailer

- Switch 1 didn’t have its “Direct” until January 2017 (2 months before the March 2017 launch)

- Switch 2 won’t have its Direct until April

- Switch 2 “Experience” event won’t be held in some countries until June

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
March. It’ll go on sale, but we won’t know shit about it until April 2nd.

Probably June

I was on Team June before the trailer dropped and I am still on Team June.

It's the closest match to the OG Switch's January presentation to March release timeline.

I think I’ve answered this exact question in another thread/poll a few weeks back. Can’t recall, but I think i went with June or July.

August.. seeing as some countries won’t even get the “hands on events to build hype” till June / July. Also just a slight advantage before holiday big games hit and sales on other systems etc.

They sure have milked the launch but man I hope they have some really tweaked special updates to the system because another year older tech and that chip was already long in the tooth.

Good call, some countries won’t get their hands on experience events until after June 1st

“Nintendo is also visiting Melbourne from May 10 to 11, Tokyo from April 26 to 27, Seoul from May 31 to June 1, and Hong Kong and Taipei at later dates.”

Unless they’re having a staggered launch instead of a single global launch then I can’t see that being until after mid-June.

Hong Kong and Taipei are both in China,* so I could understand them getting the console later than the rest of the world. Nothing here contradicts a June release.

* - obviously this is a point of huge contention for Taipei, and I am not trying to weigh in on the issue of Taiwanese sovereignty here, lol. I'm just saying that there's reason to think that release there might not be day and date with nations with a ... less complicated geopolitical status.

There are hands-on events planned until June, how could it launch before ? I am expecting this in September at the earliest.

Would give it good momentum going into the holidays.

As with Switch in 2017 though I’d want to see a big 3D Mario game before the year’s out, a September launch would mean that this would launch too close to Mario Kart 9.

The Switch hands on events were Jan to end of Feb I believe.

Not that they have to follow exactly the same plan, but given that the OG Switch launched in early March, this would be more evidence for a mid-June release. I'm going all-in on June 12th.

(My birthday is June 17th, so this is at least 80% wishful thinking.)
