In my order of preference:

#5: Ulysses Klaw

Murderer and betrayer of T'Chaka and personal archenemy of T'Challa. A powerhouse with near-absolute control of sound

#4: Malice

Wakandan Mutate with superhuman strength, speed, and agility. She is a former Dora Milaje (ceremonial betrothed/bodyguard) of T'Challa.

#3: White Wolf

T'Challa's adopted elder brother and the former leader of the Hatut Zeraze, the espionage elite police of Wakanda. Exiled by T'Challa, due to using torture and assassinations in his zeal to root out potential threats to national security.

#2: Erik Killmonger

A powerful warrior and strategic genius in politics and economics. He has consistently bested the Panther in personal combat.

#1: Man-Ape

Ruler of the Jabari Tribe a recognized micronation within Wakanda's borders. M'Baku was Wakanda's greatest warrior second only to the Black Panther. He plotted to usurp the throne with the help of the outlawed White Gorilla cult who were ancient rivals of the Black Panther cult, which basically made them heretics since Panther worship is the state religion. Founding member of the "Pan African Congress on the Treatment of Superhumans".

Which should it be, GAF?

I'd say go the EMH route & do both Klaw & Man-Ape. The former will be established in Age of Ultron anyway, so might as well.

marvel loves their dual nature with villains on the first film (iron suit vs iron suit in iron man 1, shrinking vs shrinking in Ant-Man) so it wouldnt surprise me if they go with White Wolf

but.. given it's already established and all, besides also being straight up arch-nemesis; it's gonna be Klaw

I'm not really familiar with any of the villains. I only ever read anything with him in it that was titled "Marvel" and "Zombies."

Black, African Man dressed as a gorilla and called Man-Ape. Terrible optics.

Wakanda is a technologically advanced BLACK civilization so superior to every nation on Earth by a ridiculous margin that SHIELD with its advanced tech doesn't fuck with 'em let alone any normal nations

I think that'll cause more strokes and brain aneurism than Man-Ape.

Man, the public uproar if its man ape or white wolf as the bad guys.

Black Panther is a king first and foremost. What's more is that wakanda is the most technologically advanced city on the planet. So the threat needs to be more than just a single maniacal baddie. It needs to challenge the idea and threaten wakanda. I could see Hydra or an AIM creation trying to invade to help smooth the transition into the MCU. I'd be a little disapp9inted if they just went with "Klaw's powers are enhanced by vibranium, now in the final scene he gets his hands on it and takes panther one on one."

There's more racially negative racial stereotypes tagged with Man-ape as a character though. He the most comic book like of Panther's villains but he would be controversial due to both his name, appearance, and motivations.

Screw you for derailing this entire thread.

True enough.

So it's a toss up between White Wolf and Killmonger for me.

I'm hesitant on White Wolf as him being his brother as an enemy has been done to death and I'm not sure how that can play out in a way that won't seem as a Loki/Thor retread.

the villain is definitely gonna be Klaw. Secondly they mention "the great sell of Wakanda" or something similar, so I don't think that country will be that advanced. Not in current mcu anyway.

If Winter Soldier was a conspiracy/espionage thriller, Black Panther's most logical genre would be political thriller. So you'd filter his villains through that lens. So, the villains will likely fit into something involving, I dunno, coups, terrorism, rebellions, battles over power, sovereignty, etc. Either an enemy festering within, which harkens to close to HYDRA hiding inside of SHIELD, or an enemy without encroaching on Wakanda with inside help.

If we wind up getting Klaw, he'll have sound technology that will compensate for BP's suit, so they have to battle on even ground, I assume.

I know fuck all about Black Panther.

Or, it's a political/corporate thriller, and we wind up with a multinational corporation type in the vein of Obadiah Stane/Daniel Cross coming head-to-head against Wakanda.

Black Panther storylines can rely on either a citizen wanting to take the throne or an outside power wanting the many resources within the nation. If it's an outside power, they'll typically hire Klaw to "persuade" Wakanda to action.

You might want to watch the Black Panther cartoon MTV put out years. Although it is very much a blaxploitation cartoon and fairly poorly animated, it gives the most basic overview of Black Panther as a character and the enemies he typically faces.

If they
really make Wakanda not as advanced as in the comics
that would be horrible but exactly the course I would expect them to take

If they do that then Marvel truly is nothing but a bunch of cowards.
