you know... i'm sure the story will be brilliant, but the fighting doesn't seem like something I'd be into at all. Really undecided at the moment.

Turn based rpgs are my favorite kinds of rpgs, and so far it looks like there's a bit more to this one than meets the eye combat wise. I can really tell I'm going to enjoy myself.

In just what's been seen in the trailers there are references to an awful lot. I expect this thing to act an an homage to more or less the entire run as well as an effective second movie and hopefully kickass RPG.

If they work for you there are vouchers in this thread for Green Man Gaming that knock off 20 or so percent. There are(at least were when I checked a week ago) also people in the buy/sell/trade thread here on Neogaf offering the game for 22 or 25 bucks as well.

Edit: You can also go to various sites and trade things like team fortress 2 keys for steam gifts and save a little more money(at least last I checked) as well. It is what I assume the guy I bought my copy from did then sold it to me.

Edit2: Looks like they added a region lock to the game so what I said above no longer works.

Originally (THQ) they were going to. I haven't heard anything about it since they went to Ubisoft.

This was the only thing I remember anyone saying since:

Parker said they were urged to "cut it down, cut it down, cut it down," and "that everyone kept saying to us [make that extra content] DLC" — drawing jeers from the crowd — "and I agree... fuck that."

Right now, nobody knows for sure. What I've read of the character creator, no one mentions any gender options; just skin color with a ton of hair and clothing options. However, in the primer trailer, they definitely show off a female looking character.... Could be something that was dropped though.

I'm still going to pick-up the game for the PC, as from what I have read from the previews, the game is fairly reminiscent (mechanically, at least) of the Earthbound series, but this role-playing game will be sticking close to it's source material, along with introducing several side-characters that haven't made an appearance on the show in a long time.

(And before you guys ask, yes, I've been watching South Park on-and-off since it's inception, so I know how most of the boys, especially Cartman, keep their distance from most of the female characters. I just think it would've been fun to see how they would have reacted to the new kid being a girl character.)

I'm not sure whether or not you watched the Comicon footage, but Trey specifically cites Earthbound as an inspiration for the game

Also, with regards to that quest, it can go either way. On the one hand, it would be as simple as your avatar putting on a disguise. But it could also go as far as the boys forcing your avatar to go through a sex change operation.

It either didn't work in the context of South Park or it was too much work to pull off. South Park is about 9 year old boys and that's traditionally an age where kids don't want to have anything to do with the different gender. So, they either felt that the boys wouldn't accept a girl as one of the group in the context of the show or they would have needed to change too much of the game's dialogue (since the kids would react differently to a girl) to make it work with a reasonable budget in mind.

Looks more like an interactive movie than anything, if that thirteen minute clip is how the majority of the game will play out. The combat looked about as basic as you can get. I'll probably end up getting this anyway though just to see how it unfolds, and I will also be able to trick my non RPG playing friend into playing an RPG.
