Malebolgia has been Greenlit! Congrats man!
Depends for me - I'm part of the problem though. If a game doesn't grab me by the short hairs with the way it looks (based on screenshots on Greenlight) I won't upvote it. It's a tough call - but I don't have unlimited time to give each and every game a fair shake, I suck.

with a new map, wall running, and local multiplayer support. From the recesses of the "just because" portion of the team's crazy minds comes another addition to the incoming patch: Minecraftwith goats.
Goat Simulator is receiving an update June 3rd:

I've been meaning to look into that at some point; I recall some of my online buds being into the original doujin release. All I know is that this is a game where you have to unlock the ability to walk right, which just about says it all, really.Bunny Must Die (a metroidvania that was made before it was cool to make them -- the game is plenty nuts)
... what? At least have a link to Wikipedia or something.Indie Royale said:Thanks to Alan Turing, who was a bit of an enigma, we have computers and able to play these games
It's sad to see many members on GAF have no idea about the doujin scene, I don't blame them because mostly of the games are present only in the Comikets and it's hard to find info about these games in English but diminish entirely the scene saying they only produce erogé VN or mobile games (and it's not a bad thing because the mobile market is huge in Japan) is lame, I know there is bad and questionable stuff but put everything in the same bag doesn't do any favor to the good games.
/end rant

yup, it's really hard to find any real info about doujin games in english language.
last year i wrote (in italian) a long article in three parts about the indie scene in japan

If you have some time left until saturday, I highly recommend checking out the free Echoes of the Wild demo.
*sounds like a broken record*
Thanks I'll read it later when I'm on my laptop.
Could you point me to the demo's link? I tried to find it yesterday but no success.
Nyu Media added a new batch of Japanese games to Greenlight:
Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm
Sacred Tears TRUE
Supercharged Robot VULKAISER
ARMED SEVEN
Ah, right. I forgot to mention that for some reason he didnt include it on the website. I had to google for it. Echo of the Wilds demo:

Echos of the Wild is very good, hard and a bit creepy as well.

In Where is my Heart? you play the story of a family of forest spirits. The family lives comfortably in a tree in the woods until one day they lose their home and thus embark on a great adventure. Their journey will take them through the mushroom caves and even deeper down to the lifeless crystal pools and back up into the mountains

Wings of Saint Nazaire is an action-orientated space simulation game reminiscent of titles such as Wing Commander and the X-Wing series.
Just wanted to throw a recommendation out here for Dusk Golem's Let's Make an RPG Maker Game! thread since we have had some aspiring devs in here. Make an RPG maker game before July 31st, submit for funsies and review all sorts of GAF-er made mini RPGs. Pick up RPG Maker VX Ace while it is on sale in the Humble Weekly for a buck and get crackin!
I was considering that, but I know how much time I used for my first RPG Maker project back in the days, so not sure I can do something I'd want to put out in 9 weeks
No clue how people can do something so quickly that is somewhat fun.
Ludum Dare?
Yeah, I know people DO it, but I still have no clue HOW they do it. Boggles my mind.

Northern Shadow is a first person perspective RPG where you can build and manage your own kingdom.
The Forest is out on Early Access now.

Finished playing through A Story About My Uncle just now, and agree on almost all points, positive and negative.
Overall, the freedom of the jump, grapple, and rocket mechanics allow for a lot of fun, even in difficult times. I played with a Dualshock 4 (I don't play a lot of PC stuff so its far more familiar to me than keyboard and mouse) and had a rough time in the final sections too. I must have tried one section 100 times - granted it was 3 in the morning.

Land on a planet, pick up some rocks, leave before the solar system explodes. Oh, and don't die in the nightly robot attacks! Freaking Meatbags is a humorous real-time strategy game that's all about building a base, mixing meatbag DNA, then convincing those dolts to help you gather resources.

The Earth is attacked by Evil Robot Invaders From Space and it seems that the main protagonist who is a homeless drunk, engineer genius and a little crazy is the last hope for mankind.
With the help of a small alien artefact and his engineer knowledge he (the player ) gather and build defence gadgets from junk to repel the invaders.
The game is separated into day and night cycles. When night comes your vision becomes limited and the robots become more aggressive which makes the gathering of resources more dangerous.

Social Justice Warriors is a satirical role-playing game that transforms you into a crusader for online morality, a champion of internet justice, and the lone defender standing valiantly against the encroaching morass of willful human ignorance.
Created in response to the list of social justice warrior videogame journalists to avoid, Social Justice Warriors translates the standard medieval fantasy heroes of role-playing games into social media crusaders facing an endless horde of ignorant, bigoted internet trolls.

The Book of Dwarf is a management sim with a more personal feel. Interact closely with your dwarves and watch them as they go about their daily lives. With complex AI systems leading to emergent and unpredictably fun behaviour no two games of The Book of Dwarves will be the same! Think the base building elements of Dungeon Keeper, the voyeuristic intimacy of The Sims and a little of the complexity of Dwarf Fortress
