The triple booms kind of turn me on.


Edit. Hope bison gets to paint the fence again and Ken gets his roll from the alpha series. Since balance isn't an issue any more Vega should get ST wall dives back and they should have instant recovery and be all round stupid.

More focus on sustaining SFIV instead of moving forward with new titles. Though, to be fair, we don't know if it's Capcom USA spearheading this or Japan. Regardless, like I mentioned in the dedicated thread, this is just more bad omens from Capcom.

it's most likely qloc, since they're the actual devs on ultra

iirc those 'beta' moves/traits that were actually omega mode stuff had qloc all over 'em in the files too but i might be remembering wrong

I'd have to agree. Most likely they figured they had Combofiend and some junior programmer sitting there with nothing to do.

Didn't test too extensively, but it's worth looking into as an escape option since I couldn't figure out a way to combo off the hit with Doom. Of course, I'm no Doom player, so you might be able to find a way to do that.

You mean if you mash on incoming with certain buttons, it alters your character's positioning or something so even when they're hit with the j.M, the footdive no longer combos afterward?

No need to think about that, especially considering we know Ono has had enough difficulty moving forward already. Just supports notions that Capcom really doesn't want to support it's fighting game subdivision with frequent releases and even with the arrival of a new console generation would rather wring out their titles for as long as possible.

They're on record saying both of their major FG franchises wouldn't get sequels until a decade after their predecessors release, and all is going according to the plan. It looks fun, like Bobby said it's probably our Alpha 4, but this is just yet another reminder of Capcom's failings and a bad omen for progress.

I'm really loving this omega mode stuff.

SF4 is feeling kinda stale, so big changes and crazy shit is just what i wanted to see. I'm gonna have fun messing with this. And it's free too.

The thing I took away from that video is that Combofiend's job title is nonsense. And that I doubt most characters will see much beyond move property changes.

That said, free is free. I hope this is the update the trials arrive with.

I think I'm really disappointed but I can't just put my finger on it...

Omega mode? Instead of fixing all the hitbox/deejay issues?

Is this the only way I'll be able to get Deejay to be mid tier?

Speaking of Smash I was laughing the other day when Mew2King was asked if he liked Smash 4 and he said he didn't really enjoy it and liked Melee a lot more, then they asked how much he played of it so far and he said "about 4 hours"

They couldn't patch marvel, so they put marvel in usf4....
I'm OK with this.

Omega mode looks pretty fun.

People would probably be hype if usf4 had released with this mode, proper trials and other fixes to begin with. :p

From the capcom unity post:
while other characters such as Zangief gain new abilities, like being able to combo into his command throws.

This is gonna be good!

The Steam thread is saying minor balance adjustments are coming to the base game with the patch as well.
I suspect that's just bugfixes but who knows. I still think Dee Jay players have less to complain about than Honda players.

That would be enough to get people to play.

We saw a lot of the stuff that made it to Omega mode a month or so ago. It's nice to see that actually had its own purpose and it wasn't just a handful of conceptual ideas that were "supposed to" be in USF4.
