Really happy with the Valdes signing now, actually.

If he's a back-up for the next year and a bit - that's great.

If he takes over from De Gea in the summer, that'll do too. Replacing De Gea will be tough but Valdes is a high level keeper who will be able to step into the role and cope fine. Plenty of experience and know-how to which is important as we lost a fair bit of that in the past year.

I also liked that he maintained the Camp Nou is the most important stadium in the world for him. Woody must have been begging him to say some shit at how OT makes him jizz and its the best thing ever.

Playing with lower starred teams makes the game a bit more tactical and less exploity. Which is nice. Also nice that the keepers are not so good, so the goals are more random. And somehow the crappier shots your players take are more effective. Ball stays grounded more easily which is poison for the GKs.

I'm really digging it.

He's fucking brilliant, that's for sure. Dunno if he's better than De Gea, or if it's that clear cut. Both play behind extremely dodgy defences.

Both two of the top five or six in the world though.

We've definitely made a step up in the level of players we're targeting.

Remains to be seen whether they'll be successful or not. Jury is still out on Mata and he's been here almost a year.

Shaw, Di Maria and Blind will all be well worth it by the end of their time at United.

Falcao's only gonna be here a year anyway.

Hopefully Herrera steps it up.

I can remember three or four high profile mistakes, usually against Madrid :lol

But by and large he's a very good keeper. Was Barca's best player last season until his injury (obligatory Messi exception).

His final 2 years at Barca were very solid.

Before that sure, pretty erratic.

But I don't think anybody thinks he is or was amongst the best in the world. But reliable enough.

I seem to remember like a year or so where he was making an error in any decent game.

Obviously would still be a massive upgrade for you lot. But not sure I'd want him replacing De Gea.
