Ultra Street Fighter 4 will be played on X360 at EVO2015

Expected, but good news regardless.

Sony/Cap fucked up bad with the port. With that said... I'm not worried about SFV. And I'm not sure why other people would be either...

Sony very well could have said "Fuck you, we gave you 500k for this tournament, you're gonna play it on PS4, it's part of the agreement."

That doesn't seem to be the case, so he's happy to announce that it is not.

Sony didnt give 500k for evo. They gave 500k for the upcoming Capcom Cup.

There seems to be a lot of short term thinking with these remastered ports.

Hire the lowest bidder, track record be damned.

Perhaps also there is much ignorance and apathy towards technical competence at the executive decision making level. You'd think a company like Sony would be smart enough to hire wise long term decision makers in an arm as critical to its long term success as PlayStation.

From my experience only one studio has demonstrated flawless technical prowess to port one generation up. That studio is Hexadrive. Either them, or get the original developers on board.

I can't stand sloppy or dodgy deals to the least deserving.

And it's all for the port of a game that everyone knew was going to undergo very strict scrutiny.

They advertised it as tournament ready for gods sake.

Incase that's sarcasm, Other Ocean's porting job has nothing to do with Dimp's, Capcom's,or Sony's for that matter, technical ability.

They gave the job to the wrong person, and that's their fuck up. I'm guessing Sony wanted fast and cheap, and just hired whoever. That kind of shit is what gets you in this kind of position.

I seriously hope Sony/Capcom/Other Ocean feel some kind of regret for going about this port they way they did, and I hope they just come out and admit that they screwed up and that they won't go this route again.

I can't remember the last time something like this left such a bad taste in my mouth.

I wonder why they switched

lol, you know exactly why.

PCs are more expensive and have multiple points of failure. For example all it takes to spread a virus to tournament PCs is one USB stick. Plus all kinds of problems with drivers, etc.

I think the virus fears are a bit over blown here. You could get some alienware alphas at the lower end of the spec table around the cost of a console and they would run this game just fine. The actual problem here is that these consoles would probably be used to run other games and not all the tournament games would have PC ports.

No, not sarcasm. Was just addressing the few posters who for some reason think this awful port will have any impact on SFV expect maybe more scrutiny during the development process.

I can't believe Sony put their word behind the freaking game that is they specifically addressed the shortcomings of the PS3 version, and have the game turn out it worse.

Its a legit legal case of false advertisement. Sorry to be blunt, but Sony deserves eggs on their faces.

The worst thing isn't that the PS4 version has problems, it's that it seems to still have nearly ALL the problems with the PS3 version. Including the ones they specifically stated they'd fix.

Why is he "happy to announce"?

Sounds like something to say to spite Sony, seems kind of childish.

It's what many tournament players wanted + the PS4 version has major issues. Having major problems/glitches happen during a main event tournament would ruin the event for pretty much everyone involved.

The narrative in this thread is just anti-Sony.

Not "Shame the PS4 version sucks right now, but at least Sony's not making them use it for EVO"

Well it was a requirement to use the PS4 version.

So I talked with a few of my sources and they said that it was actually Microsoft who bought parts of the USFIV source code for billions of dollars and Capcom removed MvC3 from the internet as a sign of goodwill and fired Inafune so that USFIV can become a XBO exclusive

This is what gets me. They knew people were going to be combing through this game looking for gameplay inconsistencies... and they didn't have to look far at all. This is the worst type of game to screw up in this regard.

I just don't get why Capcom didn't give them the PC code to port over. Even if THAT port was bad I'm sure it could have been easily fixed.

I heard in the other thread that Other Ocean used the PS3 version as the base.

I'd laugh... but I got juniored for this shit. Next time I should fucking watch the entire video before making a thread.

I am a dumbass

Sony should be ashamed of themselves. What should have been the first step in hyping up their next big exclusive turned out to leave them flat on there face.

Well we have to remember, its sony's third party production group that paid for the port, they didn't specifically develop it.

So they have to be the ones to keep tabs on the people they did contract to do the port(aka Other Ocean), and for some reason, they went through development thinking what they were posting up as actual fixes were not being carried out by Other Ocean for whatever reason be it technical incompetence or whatever other reason.

Miscommunication between Other Ocean and Sony on OO's actual capability is the only reason i can see Sony actually launch this when they knew just as much as anyone issues would be IMMEDIATELY found out by the core players they were attempting to grab with the port.

And i'm also hearing the PS4 version was based on the PS3? What the fuck? Why the fuck would Capcom hand over PS3 code instead of PC code for their own game!? None of this shit makes any sense

Sony really needs to come out and be clear about the situation, the damage is done, but if they want to regain the people's trust they need to drop the PR talk. Promising patches is not enough, especially when Other Ocean is still doing the work.
There's plenty of time before the Capcom Cup finals, better act fast.

Imagine if the FIFA had to use some Nike designed ball for the next Wold Cup, but turns out the ball is shitty and will affect the spectacle of the sport, with players and fans discontent about it.

Why wouldn't they be happy than the can use instead a proper ball that works and will make players and fans happy to see that no stupid shit happens in the matches?

FIFA would probably still use the defective ball

Honestly they just need to focus on fixing the game. Words won't help at all. For competitive purposes. The situation has been fixed. They are using the 360 version for EVO.

Thank you Sony for this great port!

Now everybody, please be outraged quieter!

Is this Sony's or Capcom's fault? Didn't the Resident Evil Remaster run better on Xbox One?
Capcom trying to pass the buck to Sony only, but I'm pretty sure it's a shared responsibility between all parties involved.

- Capcom for not Q&Aing and being hands off on one of their main IPs, and the cornerstone of EVO.
- Sony for cheaping out and trusting such a big port to an apparently known to be mediocre studio
- Other Ocean for not delivering a quality product probably by putting cost and on time as the main factors (don't answer a call for port if that's your only pedigree, everybody will end up tarnished)

I guess they thought they'd save time, where the game was already set up for the PSN system, online, trophies, button prompts, etc. But you'd think all the hassle with de-tangling all the Cell processor-specific coding would take more time. It is probably the reason for the mess they're in now.

It's hilarious that they didn't even bother edit most of the button prompts. Couldn't spare one guy half a day's worth of work to change the title screen, and substitute the PS3 shoulder button icons for PS4 ones?
