Maybe it's because the game industry figures they hired are all focused on indie games that no one looked into this game's performance or cared about it during development. If they still had Seth Killian on staff i doubt this would have turned out this way.

I feel sorry for everyone involved who wasn't the outsourced dev.

Andrew House going "Vita is dead"
He said that? Lol, that's a Sega-level move right there. But atleast unlike Saturn the Vita actually like zero hope for recovery so it was pretty much true when he said it (if he said it).

MODS INVENTED THE ALTERNATIVE COSTUME
-GAF 2015

Lol. That's a huge stretch. Huge.

And yet it's true. What other reason did SFIV have for being on PC? It had no cross-platform online play, the sales there were a pea in a bucket compared to console and even 3DS, and what sales they got weren't too profitable given how low-priced PC games are from the jump.

Y'all really think we'd of gotten even half of those themed alt outfits if it weren't for Capcom eying the mod community? Hell some of the alts are almost direct facelifts of some of the mod costumes.

Research, people. Research.

I
I do, yeah. I don't think the mod community has I'm any way made Capcom consider more sf4 releases on PC. I think they've continued to port them because it's been relatively easy money for the effort after the initial version. Really don't see what the mod community has to do with anything. Believe what you want, though. Irrelevant to me, just thought it curious you'd think a niche of a niche community would in any way contribute to PC releases of sf4.

Was kinda hoping Evo would light a fire under whoever was responsible for the port and fix it..but I guess that ain't gonna happen.

I want my money back :(

I was thinking the same thing . If it was still a possibility of it being used for EVO might have been up to snuff in weeks if not less. Now they're really gonna drag their feet..

It wouldn't have mattered if the game was fixed 100% 2 weeks from now, nobody would trust it to use at EVO at this point.

All 3 parties need to be ashamed with this port, this doesn't just fall on Sony alone. The best thing Sony and Capcom can do at this point is prove that SFV wont be a tremendous piece of shit at EVO by providing a damn good hands on experience with the game.

I think Seth's role is often overstated. There are tons of people there currently who would have seen how bad this port was immediately, and there was a huge disconnect somewhere regardless.

Smug(Dudley Player) and I think Snake Eyez( Zangief Player) uses the 360 controller

As far as I can tell, Snake Eyez uses a Madcatz 360 fight pad. Smug was the first thing to come to mind when I read that, too.

Enough about that, though. Interesting discussion about using PC in tournaments a few pages back. I just thought it was a "make everything standard and feel the same" thing. Guess I never really thought about costs/logistics, driver nightmares/restarting every time you plug in a stick, and that it offers no benefits to just using a cheaper, more easily transportable console version.

Nobody's contesting that. You seem to think capcom should be absolved of any blame. Capcom should have kept a closer eye on their baby.

What makes you think that they didn't keep a closer eye on this? In a day of age that post patches is when games are actually finished. If you haven't noticed Capcom is busy working on other projects. They had zero plans to port Ultra to begin with. This was Sony's idea to reinforce their system as thr fighting system for the generation. You act like Capcom, Sony and Other Ocean all live in a room together. This is Sony a fault for low balling the port cost Period.

The other poster was right in you being an apologist for Capcom. There's enough blame to go around, period.

Eh, this seems wholly on Sony and them cheaping out by choosing Other Ocean.

Not sure how you can suggest Capcom are to blame, they are focused on Street Fighter 5, Sony were the ones who likely insisted that they be allowed to bring USF4 to PS4 and Sony were the ones who were in charge of funding its development.

Capcom are only to blame in that they should have said no and told Sony to stay focused on SF5.

No I'm not on that team. Sony contracted this from Capcom. Capcom had no plans to port this to current systems. This falls squarely on Sony.

Capcom and Sony have an agreement. Capcom agreed to use THIS version of the game for THEIR pro tournament circuit. How is gods name do they not keep a closer eye on their flagship title?

Because Capcom already created perfection in the PC and 360 versions. It wasn't Capcom idea, this was Sonys. Capcom gave them the shot. Sony dropped the ball And Capcom went to plan B.

There are reports of the PS3 version being the base version of this port. How did Capcom not provide the PC code to port over? They made an agreement with Sony to use this version of the game for the pro tournament circuit. Capcom should have been hands on as well.

Technical issues aside. You can trust SOny or Other Ocean to know the nuances of this sort of game. Point blank Capcom should have had eyes and FGC testers on this as well seeing as they knew this was going to be the version that would be used in their own tournament going forward. I blame all 3 parties equally.

No. Capcom should have kept a closer eye on the title, QA. They should have made sure the proper version was ported and that this version was up to the standards they set. How does capcom not share the blame if the ps3 code was purportedly what was given to work with?

Don't the fighting people hate 360 controller for fighting games?

This should be good lol

360 controllers are not all the same, especially the triggers and shoulder buttons and the d-pad.
I've personally would rate even a "bad" 360 pad better than a PS4 pad for playing USF IV imho.
But that's highly subjective and that's why it's good to have a choice of a wide collection of pads and sticks.
