Edit: I wouldn't mind if they added some Tekken characters (like Kazuya) to SFV down the line. Those were one of the most interesting things of SFxT.

Wow that trailer was sick. Pretty hype news. I wonder if it means anything for TxSF? Also as already mentioned, it does perhaps explain Akuma's absence in SFV's first year. I'm not sure what to make of Akuma being incorporated into the story. Is this a formal fusion of the universes (similar to how Final Fight & Street Fighter are in the same universe)?

Tekken does pretty well, and they are as of currently in arcades making more money than they have ever made on tekken.
So... what ya talking bout? Like tekken 3 stuff? That's a phenomenon. If you use that as the metric than street fighter has been on a steep decline since two. And that's not true, though 3 happened.
Tekken looks great all we need now is a Koei Tecmo crossover so I can have Asuka and Kokoro play volleyball and enjoy island vacation.

Poor choice of words I guess. I mean in the older games he seemed more mysterious and less mouthy compared to SFIV. But maybe that was due to SFIV's overall goofy nature.

Tekken sells alot. It is the best selling fighting game franchise.
Tekken 6 for example sold more than vanilla SF4. After every console release they move on to the next Tekken game instead of re-releasing a new version of the same game with new updates/characters.
They also make alot of money. They already make a profit with the arcade release and with porting to console they make even more profit. That business decision (arcade first, year later console release) is usually something that pisses of Tekken fans but for Namco its ridiculous $$.
